Walesy 0 Posted September 9, 2009 And you guys are saying that most of the comments are fair? is was only walesy saying most of the comments were fair :cuckoo: Yep, and most of them are  As someone else said, each to their own - the point I was trying to make is that arguing over which car brand is 'betterer' is pretty childish tbh, whether you're a 'VAG nut' or not

-=Kris=- 0 Posted September 9, 2009 VW Corrado 2.9V6 - Biggest pile of golf **** ever - its not even made by Volkswagen - it was made by karman in a shed based on a mundane nk3 golf with a **** engine thats nearly 3 litres and produces a feeble 174 or something bhp And you guys are saying that most of the comments are fair? The engine was revolutionary for the time, and the Corrado is still raved over by some of the most respected car magazines out there.. a 15 year old Cavalier or Corsa aint going to be getting the same kind of love. Exactly, and the Corrado in any flavour will continue to be remembered way after their Vauxawful have been forgotten. So what its not the fastest machine, but it does have road presences. YEY!!!   i sooo agree... that post wound me up so much... he clearly has no indication of what he is talking about... grrrr it makes my blood boil!!!! :censored: :bad-words: :brickwall: :gag:

Neil VR6 0 Posted September 10, 2009  I think most Corsa enthusiasts make a rod for their own back by ruining them with chavvy wheels and primer-coloured body panels! Funny Corsa article From Sniff Petrol: There was good news for fans of being a dithering thicko this week as Vauxhall revealed more details of the brand new Corsa, including a series of high tech options specifically designed for the kind of mush brained simpletons who bought the old model. Chief amongst these options is a new system dubbed MLA - Middle Lane Assist - which relies on a series of sophisticated sensors to detect if the driver is displaying anything resembling correct motorway discipline and triggers a warning tone so that they can resume their correct spot in the middle lane, even though the inside lane is completely empty. MLA is directly linked to another exciting new feature known as ASA, or Annoying Speed Assist, which is capable of detecting the speed limit for any given road and then holding the car at precisely 4.5mph less than that. Meanwhile, low speed manoeuvring is taken care of by another revolutionary system labelled Inept Park Assist (IPA) which works off the familiar bumper-mounted parking sensors but sends the information from them to a dedicated ECU which then assesses the steering and throttle inputs needed to bump repeatedly into the car behind and still manage to come to rest bang slap in the middle of a kerbside space that is actually big enough to accommodate two cars, if they weren't driven by people who are fucking idiots. Of course, the new Corsa isn't just about technology. Amongst the unique aesthetic features premiering on this model, Vauxhall is promising a standard fit range of stupid little teddy bears and gonks strewn all over the dashboard and rear seat so that the entire interior resembles a 12 year old girl's bedroom. When the new Corsa goes on sale in the Autumn prices are expected to start at whatever Vauxhall reckons it can get away with, given that anybody buying one clearly knows fuck all about cars and will be so busy deciding what stupid bloody name they're going to give it that they won't ask for a discount. Jim 2 Posted September 10, 2009 Why do people care so much? It's just a lump of metal and rubber that will let you down? Far more important things to worry about in life. I think I speak for others when I consider it almost like an insult to have your pride and joy chastised by people who are, without pulling any punches here, wrong. A lot of us here are car enthusiasts and the Corrado was chosen as your pride and joy for a number of reasons. I love the Corrado because of how it looks, how uncommon it is, just how good it is as an overall package, and because the enthusiastic community we have behind it. I get a warm glow of satisfaction reading articles about the car from motoring journalists, or watching reviews of the era because it makes me feel that I made the right choice - the Corrado was great then, is still great now and is a modern classic. To a lot of people that doesn't matter - they don't care whether Joe Shmoe who writes for some car magazine likes their car or not, but (rightly or wrongly) I like that feeling. On top of that I love the passion, that the guys who originally worked on and designed the Corrado, had and still have for it. A number of us have had the luck to meet folks who were instrumental in the birth of the Corrado over in Germany and they enthuse about these cars so much. The chief construction engineer retired after making the Corrado and is now a really old man.. yet is always desperate to come to the meets in Germany and be a part of the people who love the car he helped design. Knowing now that Karmann is gone, dead and buried I take it as a personal affront that morons like the guy I quoted from the Vauxhall forum can quite gleefully refer to Karmann as 'a shed' - it's just bloody insulting from someone who clearly doesn't have a freaking clue what he's talking about, and sometimes you just want these people to know they're wrong. But as others have said on the thread - arguing about crap like this on the net is a waste of time and no matter who "wins" we're all still losers ;) So I'll shut up now ;)
