Sanj 0 Posted February 9, 2004 Mate I just bought a battery for my 2.0 L 16v, its a bosch silvertop. Theres not much space to put a battery in the engine bay so your better off sticking to a bosch one. Not sure on the battery size but I put an 075 type in mine if that helps. kongo127 0 Posted February 10, 2004 Let me advice you... A Bosch Silver would do a perfect work even is those frozen mornings! A have got one with a cappacity of 64 Ah. Not expensive at all!
andycowuk 0 Posted February 10, 2004 GSF or Costco sell BOSCH silver's at good prices i love costco! Its next to IKEA in ediburgh, which lets me sneak off to get good tools and stuff, while the missus wastes money on the house
biggrim 0 Posted February 10, 2004 You only get 4 years from a Halfords battery if you buy a calcium one. Standard batteries have three years. 8)

davidwort 0 Posted February 11, 2004 77Ah Hella one, 2yr warranty but cheaper than a 64Ah Bosch (you're only paying for a longer warranty anyway) fit's in my 16v just fine, both my previous Bosch silver 64's only last 3 years anyway, can't really take the occasional 2 weeks not being used and radio/immobiliser/alarm drain. VW state a 55Ah for my car, that's just not up to the job with extras fitted. David. mk2vr6,
Supercharged 2 Posted February 11, 2004 If you get a Halfords one, you get a free Porter manual at the moment

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 11, 2004 I used to favour AC Delco batteries, but I think Vauxhall no longer sell them :( They were the mutts. Otherwise a big VAG or Bosch one will do the job quite nicely. K
