Outer Sills

I've hunted high and low for a set of sills as mine really need replacing. It seems you can't get them new anymore... I would be happy to have some that have been cut of a donor car as long as they were perfect!

 

Or does anyone know where you can get them new?

Do they have to be cut off or can they be unbolted??

 

I have a set that are not rusty at all and in really good cosmetic condition based in bath

 

Not sure if the guy who's interested in the skeleton once stripped wants them tho - will ask him - if not then £100 collected for both, not sure how easy to get off and not available for a couple of weeks.

The part number for the passenger side sill panel from the front edge of the wing all the way to the back of the wheel arch is 535809847 and retails at £40.81+vat from VW

Although they are now £51.62 and he couldn't give me the part numbers.. apparently they are not allowed.. oh and he can't order them for me either.. course he can't... dick! lol

Ah right! I swear VW said from front to back.. Maybe I'll pop in :) Cheers anyway, i do need that part, but would prefer the whole lot!!

The other parts are part of the rear arch and the front is part of the side panel, doubt you'll be able to get the whole section

I bought the centre sections and also the front section which include the whole a-pillar, got them from VW heritage/VW classic parts. They come in from Germany.

 

Think i still have one centre section spare that i don't need

Yes, that front A pillar goes all the way down to the sill level too doesn't it. The centre section is showing as discontinued now though [on the VW-Heritage UK website at least].

Actually looking at the car again, the very outer section of the sill right at the front by the wheel arch is part of the wing. Maybe I'll just have to find a replacement outer wing in the next year or two. The sills look (and sound) good, so far.

I found its the bit behind the wing that rusts the worst, all the water from windscreen etc drains onto it
