hmmmmm... I've been quite lucky so far, havnt spent as much as I could have, still have many things to fix tho... admittedly most of the money spent on my car has been on my alloy wheel fetish....

...and quite a bit of it I need to pay back.......

to start with the car cost me £800

have bought 3 sets of wheels (TSW, BBS, AEZ) at a total of £400

tyres for various wheels £200

(sold TSW's and original Estorils for £300 tho this weekend!)

work done at garages 'repairing' exhaust and replacing lambda probe £330

(Dave fixing what the garage should have £0 and 15 min  )

replacing plugs, leads, fan switch, thermostat etc etc..... £150

external stuff for tinting lights and spraying badges black £25

Passat rear handle and mech £10

smoked side repeaters £15

engine bay getting steam cleaned £20 (there was an engine under the oil!!!!)

front seats were a pressie so dont count...

all in all not tooooo bad cos she's going ok at the mo and looks good....

however am planning to spend quite a bit over the next year doing varous things, new wheels (again!), full stainless, coilovers, interior and some engine work......

beans n toast for me for the next year......

I started going through my receipts folder the other weekend.

I've started a spreadsheet and including buying the car £22.500 It was getting upsetting when the running total was over 40k.

That doesn't include routine services either... mainly mods / paint etc.

Scary when you add it all up..... but you pay significantly more than £40K in interest over 25 years on a mortgage....so why not spend that on a car and enjoy it :-)

Sorry for killing it chaps....

I could go one better I guess as I still have folders of receipts for other Corrado's I've owned. Treat the mrs to a new dress, nah the C gets some new toys instead!

Car £1300

Gearbox circlip 12p

Front Mount £25

Everything else i have fixed sofar have been with free bits and pieces or we have fabricated something ourselves todo the job ;x

I must say that after just spending £25.12 on the car it drives SOOOO much better and i knocked the guy down more than £25 because of poor gearchange and engine movement :p

I haven't spent too much on it really:

Heater Matrix

CV gaiters

Radiator

stat, leads, plugs, coolant

Some interior bits

Tyres

Exhaust bits

Steering rack

MOT and labour take it up to about £800-1000 I would say.

umm, not much else I suppose, bearing in mind that's its off the road in need of cam pulley, tensioner, belt, PAS pulley.

Unfortunately I grossly overpaid for a car in this condition (quite poor) as I hadn't discovered this forum then. I reckon I'll need to spend another £2k to get it mint, but that's worth it to me.

EDIT - TBH Though, I still don't whether I want it to bbe a mint, standard example or just go crazy with engine/dash conversions etc.
