Every car I had I tried to join a forum.

Ones that are welcoming, I tried to get involved as much.

Others - I just don't bother as not so welcoming.

This is so far one of the former - in fact probably the MOST helpful forum to date! :)

And the other thing that impressed me was how civilised everyone on here are to each other - its like wow, people here are really really polite :)

Just out of interest Wayne, what car groups have you found unhelpful?

I must admit, this group is great, but I don't have any experience of any others (not that I want to either to be honest)

Just my personal opinion and experience, bud.

Don't want to start a slagging match esp if some members on here might also be members of other forums.

But I can name the best ones I been to...

1. Celica-club.co.UK

- fantastic banter and close knit community on there!

- member for 3 years

- owned Celica for 1

- just announced my retirement of the forum last week

2. Board.hondacrx.co.UK

- lol, the most hilarious no-bar-hold-fights great bunch of people forum ever!

- member for 5 months

- owned CRX for 4 months

- retired in Jan15

3. Briskoda.net

- huge help and amazing welcome I got on here

- member for 2 years

- owned Superb for 18months

- enjoyed stay so much am STILL a member :)

4. LudeGeneration.co.UK

- brilliant bunch of cool people and always always helpful

- member for 4 months

- still own Prelude for 6 months now

- still member...

5. Last and not least and probably joint no.1 with another forum...

...the-Corrado.net

- members for 1 month

- own VR6 for 4 weeks, driven 1 week, broked in garage for 3 weeks

- still member...not sure how long, as VR6 is already costing me a bomb and if I move house then I don't think I can justify normal insurance premium for the city of Bradford (currently insured under classics for £180 unlimited mileage with commute to work :))

yes but if you know which car the 288s came off you can then get the part number from this site. It may not be a one stop shop but its a great source of info

Nicely done. Give em a bit of a clean up Wayne. Don't want to get me hands dirty!! :)

Ok!

Er, what I need???

I prefer to de-rust, prime and paint!

Easy to do for Mr DIY-Disaster (moi)?

For a DIY job use a hand wire brush.... or drill with wire brush attachment.... don't forget to wear glasses and dust mask if you choice to clean up this way...

and be careful with the rubber seals and block the internals up, so you don't get rubbish inside.

I prefer no drill - not confident enough :(

Will buy some cheap wire brushes then !

Thanks :)

Anything to clean/degrease?

are you in a rush to fit ? you could send them away to bigg red for a refurb

http://www.biggred.co.uk/

the pink calipers on the home page look nice.

Yes need it by Sunday 15th.

I cant justify anymore nice-to-have spending on the Corrado!

But out of interest how much on that website?

Cant see any prices ...

Question:

Garage is renewing brake fluid, bleeding PAS pump and Master cylinder...

If I am upgrading my stock 280 brakes to 288 calipers/disc/pad ...do I need to buy more brake fluid???

No mate. If they're renewing the fluid, theres no real difference in the amount needed as they'll have to pump all the old stuff through anyway.

I mean garage is renewing.

Then I am off to Vag-hag s to change brakes...so no need for more brake fluid? I read somewhere about bleeding brake fluid if changing calipers?...
