May just be the junk in the boot or toolkit unsecured. The old exhaust or suspension... I just need some time to get underneath her. 🫣 Yeah, been legal for the road since May, although most of that has entailed parking in the garage out of the rain! Used it for commuting to Eckington most of this week, except today when I gave the TT a run out, and I’ll be in it again tomorrow because I’m planning going for an MoT in the afternoon. I was originally hoping to go to Chatsworth with CCGB last weekend but we were away so had to miss it. I always thought the clunks and creaks were standard with the Corrado? Cressa 45 Posted December 23, 2024 Time away, but I do still check in. I have enjoyed having the Corrado constantly taxed and insured, so I can drive it when I feel like it. This last week she has been out for 4 days in horrible weather's. Bloody filthy but faultless and enjoyable driving surprisingly. Great fun I hope you are all well and looking forward to Christmas 🎄. Take care people and keep enjoying your Corrado
Cressa 45 Posted December 25, 2024 Santa brought me some tailgate struts. I read somewhere these are possibly the oe supplier. They look the part anyway. Next job is to fit then, so I shall post up when done. I may still get the originals refurbished, which was my original plan
Cressa 45 Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) Boxing day, but let's not waste time. I swapped over the tailgate struts and I am happy with their power. A quick job that only left me with a missing circlip as it pinged off th the back of the garage into a pile of junk. I'd rather get a replacement than spend 3hrs looking through that mess. And I also found my tailgate popper was broken 😢 Very disappointed with that. The search begins..... so if anyone can help, please shout up 👍 Edited December 26, 2024 by Cressa

Cressa 45 Posted January 7 Thanks everyone. I did find that and ordered 1, plus a spare.... And I ordered the cheap little rubber to fit in the end too. Which also fits under the handbrake too. Definitely not the weather to be in a cold Garage though
Cressa 45 Posted February 25 Big day tomorrow. MOT time has cone round. We shall see.... fingers crossed 🤞
Cressa 45 Posted February 26 The good news is that she passed. I have advisories on rear wheel bearings, which is fine. Buy cheap-buy twice. When originally doing the car I could only afford cheap ones, and didn't know a better make. Just ordered some FAG ones, ready for when I have time. Sadly, I only did 782 miles in a year. Probably because I have a mk2 GTI project in it's way. That I need to sell for someone else to finish. Hopefully I'm moving soon so it may make it easier to get to Karmann
oneohtwo 8 Posted February 27 Well done! Always nice to tick that one off! I have a vague recollection that Corrado's had a tendency to pick up advisories on the rear wheel bearings, even if nothing wrong. Something to do with the design possibly. For a while mine kept picking it up on some MOTs but not others. I know what you mean about not driving it. I haven't driven mine properly for about 4 months - I just take it for a run up and down the nearest A road to keep the cobwebs at bay every now and then. Here's to driving them more this year. Dox 26 Posted February 27 Modern tester are used to cassette type bearings with zero play, if you set tapers to do the same when warm they would be so tight they’d squeegee the grease away and the bearings would fail quickly. If they're not noisy leave them. Slight rock on the wheel at 3 and 9 o’clock is good, excessive at 6 and 12 o’clock indicate worn stub axles- if you try and adjust this out it kills the bearings (see first paragraph). Cressa 45 Posted February 27 Cheers Gents. Dox, I shall give that a wobble test as I need to get a rear tyre resealed anyway 👍
