  1. Great picture. I'm happy with that.
  2. I don't think it effects it's operation either. Mine just didn't look right as the pipe is being forced flat on it's bend.
  3. Thanks for your help. I love this site
  4. This picture shows a slight drip of water coming out of a bolt hole. It's coloured pink due to the under seal I've just removed the VR subframe and have been de-rusting and re-sealing everywhere. My concern is that water could be sitting inside parts of the chassis. Has anyone else come across this? I'm considering wax oiling all inside every crevice I find now[emoji35]
  5. Thank you. Mine is definitely wrong sided... I couldn't see vw having a kinked pipe. More problems soon to follow
  6. I've just seen how the picture has come out, so it's the BOTTOM PIPE I'm concerned about
  7. Hopefully this picture works. I'm concerned that the left hand side pipe from the top of the engine block is in the wrong side of the heater matrix as it seems to be kinking the pipe. It's on a late VR, what do other people's do? Any help gratefully received. The previous owner has changed the matrix !! hmm
  8. Passenger side wing, and the heater directional unit behind the dash??(not the control panel) Although its only a cog underneath thats bloomin broken?
  9. Did you ever manage to get the Dovercourt St Johns Wood London number plates info? I ask as i too have a VR supplied them and would like a set of original style number plates. Thanks
  10. The plot thickens!! I have just checked both part numbers on the offending breakable item of mine N/S 722 686 877 O/S 722 686 878
  11. I'll send you both sides. Just pm me your address
  12. I have found the part in my garage. Vw no. 722 686 877. They break where the cable joins onto the slider part. Bloody things!!!
  13. I'll try and dig mine out of the garage when I'm home later.
  14. It would be great if someone had done this. Mine was broken in exactly the same place. I decided to do the mk3 golf upgrade, but kept my metal panel roof. Unfortunately 2 months later after half a dozen openings that has broke!! Whilst I had my old one out of the car and in pieces I bonded the broken casting using Q bond. I've never put the sunroof back together yet, but the repair is still in one piece. It's worth a try maybe. It would be great if someone did a replacement part. Maybe one day
  15. Thanks for the reply. I'm after a original sunroof mechanism hopefully, as it is a glass one i have fitted which has also broken. Damn things, so its back to the original way hopefully. I'll let you know on the speedo surround as i had ordered one off of flea-bay but it has'nt arrived yet.
  16. i need to get sorted instead of hitting a wall and not doing my car. Could anyone help me please with any of the above. Thanks
  17. I've just done the rear of my VR too. The rear valve is definitely a good item to replace more. I also took the opportunity to replace all the rusty steel brake lines for some nice cope ones. Replace the rear abs sensor at this point as its a pig to get out and will only involve you removing everything you have put on. Handbrake cables are an easy swap and make sure you have the wire clip that holds it off the axle at the bush end. my favourite of the mk4 calipers is fitting a handbrake return spring to it. It makes it feel like a modern vehicle. Goodluck mate.
  18. I think a pic would be fantastic for myself and others. Wish I could upload... aghh
  19. the good news is I've had the wrong part. Even tho it was genuine it isn't for my car. result. Thanks to VW Sheffield my life has one less hassle. I have tried to upload some pictures to show the differences, and at 2.5MB my pictures are too big!!! So i give in. Shame really as i also bought the grommets which go on the handbrake as it enters the cabin. Pukka little items which mine didn't on even tho they were genuine parts. Happy days
