  1. Rainy? It's bloody glorious sunshine here. 8) Oh,cool strut brace by the way. What make?
  2. Right I have been to the dealers to get the pulley ordered, but they couldn't tell me if all three parts of the pulley came as one. Their system refused to accept the existence of these part no's; 037 121 033 (front "balancing?" casting) 037 121 034 (rear adjustment ring) The pulley itself is 037 121 031B which is on order at £60+VAT  so at that price,I'd expect it all to be one piece. I really would like to have my mind at rest and find out if it all comes as one piece or to order all parts individually?
  3. Your underwear? 4. Oh,I dunno. How about this one? Around 12 years ago, when I was a mere 20 and had just bought my second car-a 1.6 CavalierMK2 saloon, and was chuffed to bits. Well, amongst my group of friends (John) was one bloke who's dad was quite a prominent farmer/businessman and therefore was a bit "minted". On his 18th birthday my mates dad bought him a car-a secondhand Fiat Uno turbo IE16,also paid the first years insurance for him. Now this guy just couldn't stop bragging about this motor of his and was full of stories about how he'd thrashed this and done X amount of speed on roads that we knew couldn't be done. So one year his old man provides a big barn dance for the young farmers association and we tag along(invited of course!) Much 70/-shilling later and a call of nature later,we find the Fiat and a plan is cracking the shell with it's beak. We distract John with the means of some fine young ladies and proceed to nick his car(this is a place where you can still leave your keys in your car and still find it in the same place three days later-usually) and have a go ragging around a field-until blue smoke started coming from the exhaust. Fearing that we'd blown the turbo and being mildly tipsy-okay we were absolutley bladdered by this point-we decided to try and hide the car by driving it headlong into a haystack. We managed to cover it quite well. Next day, well hungover the phone rings and here's John desperately wanting to know the whereabouts of his car-I feign ignorance of course, but I could tell that he was not happy and near to tears. The police were involved and they did what they could but the car never turned up. Until about two weeks later when the haystack was going to be fed into the baler. That was when the car was finally found-after John had driven the toes of a tractor mounted fork into the side of his own car. :?:   :pale: Funnily enough,he doesn't speak much to any of us nowadays.
  5. Come on someone must have one! The pulley is loose and my car sound like a tractor at the moment.
  6. Am in need of the part no for the water pump pulley for a 91 G60 please. Also the water pump itself,as I think I may be in need of a new one. Alternatively,if any one has a pulley going spare, including the casting on the front(I think it's for balancing, but not sure :? ) I would be happy to buy it from you. Thanks. :)
  7. LOL,yeah, the wipers were a futile attempt to go all bling, but it all went out the window,I would get rid of them, but they're actually qiute good-as far as wipers go! It's been lowered 35mm on Weitec stuff and has vr top mounts which really does give a good combination of ride and handling.Thought about coilovers to lower the rear, but I like it like that. 8)
  8. Most of them are probably in Aberdeen-it's the Corrado capital of Britain don'cherno..... I know of at least one there. :turn-l:
  9. Very nice. Where's the battery gone? Re-located to the boot?
  10. Hmmm, checked the fluid which is down a bit, but there is a small leak where the rubber pipe from the res meets the steel pipe......Will drain whats left and get some green fluid tomorrow and see if that helps. On another note,I set the MFA MPG indicator on-it started at fifteen and then went up to 20.4MPG-that was only pootling around town at 30 or below.....
  11. Got this loud rattling kind of noise coming from the PAS pump.Sounds like it has a chain rather than a belt going around it. Have checked the pulley and apart from a missing bolt(due to a broken casting) all seems fine-just this noise. Just wondering if this a possible sign of imminent failure? :?
  12. Naw,I think it's either the P/s pulley itself or the belt isn't tensioned correctly.I'll have another go at it later. At least it's back up and running again.
  13. Thanks G-man,but Stevemac was right (:thumbleft: cheers mate!) -Allen bolt it was. Dumbass that I am,I must have loosened that off for some reason when I was working on it....  and forgot to tighten it fully.  Sorted now though. All I have to do now is figure out why theres an annoying rattle coming from around the crank/power steering pump area....
  14. This is rough, but it'll give you an idea of which one I'm talking about.... :?
  15. I've just replaced the charger belt on my G60,but have noticed that the belt slips off the charger pulley at high revs. The cause of this is the plastic tensioner, that the belt goes under before going around the charger, has worked loose. It's impossible to get a socket on the centre nut because of the chassis leg and I can't get an offset spanner into it either because of the depth. Has anyone got any idea if VW have a special tool to get into this nut to tighten it? If not, does anyone have any idea of how to do this?
  16. Took my G60 out for the first time in 18months, last Saturday, drove round town for a wee while, then went home and parked up outside the house. The amount of cars that went past and slowed down to have a gander was astonishing-one bloke even drove past, braked hard, reversed and was just gawping. That night I had another drive and got flagged down bya young drunk who promptly offered me £4k for it...... :)
  17. Errrr, MOMO something or other.....
  18. So here's whats lef of a brand new PAS belt....... The smaller bits were wrapped around the crank pulley and I've also discovered that the charger belt has been chewed too-missing one rib all the way around. :x :(
  19. Ah,that would do it...... Shame. :( You must've felt- a)Like an absolute puddin' b)Gutted c)Sore But not necessarily in that order.......
  20. Yeah, had the pleasure of driving my MK2 without PAS for a while, when the metal pipes corroded-ended up with arms like Popeye. Just wondered if it would affect the pump in any way-I don't fancy having to replace it.
  21. Um,I'm sure theres already a story posted(no pun intended) but how the hell did you manage to do that?
  22. Apart from the obvious, what,if any, damage could be caused by driving without the PAS belt in place? Mine has managed to twist itself and partly shred,so while I wait for a new one from the dealer, should it be used? :?
