  1. I have the same type of noise from my '93 VR, horrible squeeling noise in a staight line, sometimes dissappears under acceleration and braking and completely dissappears in corners.... In my car it's the heater blower motor (I think), as it only does it with blower switch turned on... I need to dismantle the mechanism sometime to investigate further. Worth checking if it is the same on yours.
  2. I did the Lupo wiper mod on mine at weekend, I can see again!!! Total cost was £70ish, but worth while. I did however have around a months wait for one of the arms to come into the country. Parts bloke said 'It sounds like a Corrado wiper conversion to me', guess he's sold loads.
  3. Sounds silly, but check the tyre pressures are correct.
  4. That shouldn't be too hard to fix, possibly with a little inginuity. It it possible to post a picture of the offending item so I can get an idea of a possible repair method. Broken pins are reasonable easy to either replace, or by-pass with some wire and a little soldering skill.
  5. Hello and welcome to the forum. I've had my C VR6 for just over 5 months, so still pretty new to me as well, but my experience with it is good. Had (or still have) a couple of the problems you mention. I'll also answer your questions from my experience. 1. Runs fine from cold, although don't thrash it until oil is warm. 2+3 I haven't experianced these symptoms. 4. Water temp, mine usually sits below 70 on an open road, but approaches 95 in traffic 5. I have a similar problem with an intermittent ABS light, but only in heavy rain... probably when it's most likely to be needed it doesn't work! I've just had 80,000 service done and noticed the car feels a little better to drive and is more economical, if thats the right word to use for a VR6.
  6. I'm not saying this is a good idea, but I know that the brother of a bloke I work with just throws the tickets he gets through the post away, he's not been pulled up for it yet. And on the subject of 'safety' cameras, I have no problem with them in built up areas, near blackspot or schools etc. But I am unfortunate enough to live in Lancashire. This week yet another camera has appeared on my way to the motorway, not in a populated area, but near some industrial estates. If the idea of this was to promote safety it would have been placed to slow traffic as it approaches the turn off to one of the estates, but it hasn't it has been placed after it to catch unwary motorists and raise even more revenue. Sorry, rant over.
  7. My REAR passenger side window has a slight leak, it wouldn't be too annoying except it drips onto passenger seatbelt reel, this in turn leads to a whining girlfriend 'cause her shoulder gets wet! Took it to the stealer who said they couldn't do anything, they said it's a bonded window and the bonding is starting to fail, advised I see a windscreen specialist. Took it to Autoglass to see what they thought, was told that the glass couldn't be re-used as the trim(seal?) would have to be cut and they would have to fit new glass complete with trim, at a bargain price of £320ish +VAT  . This price seems a little outlandish to put it politely, and I don't understant why they can't use the original glass with a new seal. Can anyone advise if the above is correct or if there is another way to repair the leak. Thanks.
  8. No mods planned, want to keep it looking pretty standard at the minute. Read "I'm very skint now!!"... If only I could afford a Z-engineering charger... Water leak is from the rear passenger window, dripping onto the front seatbelt reel. Thing a new window seal needed, a bit beyond me! I'd probably break the glass.
  9. Just found this forum, and pretty damn good it is too. I've recently bought myself a 'raddo (Dec 03) :) . Risked buying on ebay (got lucky), and travelled 320 miles to pick it up. Anyway, here's a picture of it, taken at dusk so not too good quality. Only problem I've got with it is a minor water leak through the rear passenger side window. But asked them to fix it at service (tomorrow), going to be skint for a while :( !
