  1. I just had this problem on my G60 when I replaced the cable as a ‘nice to do item’ when I did the rear callipers. One of the cables was too long (and my mounting was torn as well). I got round the problem by using spacers (as I didn’t have much time left before my retest). I can confirm though that if you’re only just getting the rear wheels to bind towards the top of the reach, it will fail. My helpful MOT centre confirmed this....
  2. Will do - very sorry for the delay in getting these weighed, it was quite the week. I’m hopefully back to normal on Tuesday so will get it sorted next week!
  3. Evening, the photos should be with you. If they're all ok, let me know and I'll price up the postage. Cheers
  4. Cool, all yours. If you PM me an address I'll work out poster costs and we can take it from there. PayPal is fine with me. I think one of the hoses has been slightly butchered In afraid, please let me know if you want photos. I want to make sure they're of use to you! Cheers.
  5. I’ve replaced my coolant hoses with silicone ones. Anyone want a spare set? I think they’re all there, but they’re free to a good home (collection or I can post if someone is willing to cover the postage). Cheers.
  6. This appears to be back this year - hosted by Specialist Cars of Malton to raise money for the air ambulance. Anyone from the Yorkshire area (or further beyond) going? It starts at 08:30 but gets busy quickly!
  7. I didn't know about it either to be honest, is it a regular thing? If so, I'll stick the next one in the calendar.
  8. Happens an awful lot unfortunately, I'm on the Eastern side of thy UK, but we've just replaced one in the Yorkshire moors that took a hell of a whack last Match from a bin lorry, and bent the track out of alignment....
  9. Another Engineer here - I look after Railway bridges in the North of England. Probably not much use to other forum members, but the things I've learned on car maintenance can also be applied to metallic structures!
  10. Curse my lack of Forum presence, as I missed this (I was also moving house to be fair). Did this event happen, if so, are there any plans for another? Blyth is an easy run for me, and in all honesty Troy, it's nice to know you as aG60 specialist are a little closer to York than last time!
  11. Aye, another non-FB user here - far too sinister! I was suprised to see how much quieter the forum was when I got back into Corrado ownership, but the answer to that is for me to post more! Maybe update here as well as my PH thread every time I do something!

    Back again

Tidy! Must be good to be back in a VR after a while away! The heater matrix is a pain... replacing the coolant hoses at the same time was worse! Cheers, Tom
  13. Aye, PM replied to and money sent! Cheers, Tom
  14. Morning, given that my offside one was binding at the MOT, if the set is still available, I might as well get a pair right...! If these are still available, please let me know and I'll take them. Thanks l, Tom
  15. N reg 2l southbound on the A1 around Thirsk around 18:15 this afternoon. Chap in his late forties (?) driving. Big thumbs up from us in the Blue AX. Cheers, Tom
  16. Currently in reassembly mode after replacing the heater matrix and doing all of the coolant hoses. A new set of Roose Motorsport hoses going in! Cheers, Tom
  17. A dark blue M reg VR6 parked up in Fulford, York this Saturday morning. Looked tidy and standard. Also, it's not normally there! 😁 Cheers, Tom
  18. A dark blue VR6 (?) with fancy wheels drove past on London Road in Edinburgh heading towards Leith Walk around 12:00 today. I was standing by the RAF Club so didn't get a brilliant look, but looked well cared for. Cheers, Tom
  19. Seconded - cheers. Having swapped my clocks (again) I found that mine were T-5 S1 LEDs and are.....adequate at best. Still, as the clocks will need replacing again, it's not really an issue as time is on my side! Cheers, Tom
  20. Hi Matt, Getting the cluster out is relatively easy (even easier if you take the steering wheel off - it's only one 24mm nut), how did you get along? If you don't mind me asking, what bulbs are you using as replacements for your originals? I'm trying to find some but am confused by the sheer number of possible options. Cheers, Tom
  21. Was it a good turn out at the Big Breakfast? My G60 and I couldn't make it (it's under a cover in the back garden.....). I think prices of good ones will rise as they become fewer for all Corrados, but the VR6 will always be seen as the Halo model. I'm still not planning on getting another one though! Cheers, Tom
  22. Hi man, I hope you find a buyer for the whole car, but if you don't I'd be interested in the Supercharger please. Thanks, Tom
  23. So...while I mostly spend forum time on Pistonheads and some of this is a duplication, I have returned to Corrado ownership with a pretty standard G60 in fair fettle, but not without her troubles. Still where better to come for technical advice right? Broadly speaking though, I've had her a month and the needles twitch like the have St. Vitus' dance, she kangaroos on part throttle and there's no charger history :). Remind me why I'm back again?! So, new ignition system in the post, JMR will be getting a call in January, and the needles....well I'll keep thinking about those. Still, if anyone knows the old girl, do drop me a line. Cheers, Tom
  24. Evening all, Last having had a Corrado (VR6) back in 2009 which I sold to buy a house, I've found myself back in Karmann world - this time with forced induction as my method of transport.... I'm enjoying this G60 malarkey, although she has some...ah....issues to be sorted. So, if anyone knows any history about J860 PEW (especially any Supercharger History), then do get in touch! Cheers, Tom
  25. Those photos are really rather lovely. I've always had a soft spot for the 900s, and that one looks particularly beautiful. I didn't know they were so easy to tweak either.
