i just bought a acccelerator cable for my 16 valve cos it was doing the same thing i hope it clears up the problem and it cost me £20 with a friends V.A.G workers discount

This has only happened once but it freaked me out. I drove my corrado home last weekend approximatley 90 miles, stopped to get petrol(decided i didnt need any) then went to start the car and i didnt fire. All the dash lights came on but when i turned the key to the point where the starter motor should kick in nothing happened. I turned the key a couple of times and nothing so i just sat for a couple of mins considering phoning the AA but i tried it once more just in case and it fired up?? Bloody weird has anybody experienced this my dad rekons its either a dodgy starter motor or the ignition switch has gone bad, he says its quite a common fault on vw although i've never experienced this on any of the ones i've owned. Any help would be much appreciated.

I just bought a corrado at the weekend its a H-reg 1.8 16 valve and i want to change the timing belt on it but when i phoned up the boy said he needed the engine code can anyone help me out here?

Hi i am now the proud owner of a H reg purple corrado 1.8 16 valve and im very happy with it. I've already put it into the body shop to tidy it up a bit and while its in there i thought i might as well service it up a bit. it needs a new throttle cable and i think ill change the timing belt as well. The only thing is when i asked about the timing belt the guy asked what the engine code is and since its at the body shop i dont know. I'm gathjering that they would all be the same code for this age so can any one help me out? Much appreciated
