  1. It does feel like the throttle stays open too long so perhaps it is sticky too. Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Noticed tonight that there is some slack in the cable at the engine end after the metal cable is exposed (if that makes sense)? Should it be tight?
  3. Nothing from Vw - obsolete. Going to try the Veedubbed method above. It's so sticky the car holds onto revs as the throttle slowly closes. Fingers crossed - if not I'll be in touch veedubbed! Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. thanks for the replies guys - i might give VW a call. Very sticky - throttle stays open after releasing etc. thanks
  5. Folks - I have carried out a few searches to try and work out what is happening with my "new" G60. I plan on using it daily so i am keen that it keeps itself cool. On the way to work this morning (a roads mainly) it looks like the water temp effectively mirrors the water temp if that makes sense. Water gauge at just under 100 and the oil temp from computer around 98 or so. I have read a few tips (on other threads) which I plan on trying like - replace blue temperature sender (perhaps ecu doesnt know what the water temp is?) - short radiator fan to see if it works? - replace radiator fan switch? I hope to flush the system and put new coolant in it etc but can I just check If bottom and top radiator hoses are warm then the thermostat is working? Also if I run the car with the expansion tank top off should I see a constant flow of water through here even when cold or when up to temp? - I am not sure this is happening so should i be considering water pump (or checking that thermostat is working first?) Any guide at all as to what sort of order to attack this in would be appreciated. many thanks paul
  6. Cheers will give that a go! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Having not done many miles in the Vr6 I have now bought a g60 as a daily - hopefully! Any ideas on a heavy throttle cable ? I remember stocks running low at Vw years ago. Down on eBay I think - anyone found any anywhere else assuming they are not serviceable? Many thanks folks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Any chance of a electric window control unit number 191959875 ? Many thanks
  9. Any chance of a electric window control unit number 191959875 ? Many thanks
  10. J287 ges , I've not owned it but have come across loads of its service history tonight. It's in amongst the history for k883 grm (that I have just bought as a daily - hopefully). Both are g60. WIerd I've just come onto site for first time in ages and saw this!
  11. Is this still for sale? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Should I be fitting an inline fuse on the headlight loom? I'm guessing black being earth? Have taken it to pieces and no obvious bare wires etc but I can't recreate the problem so maybe something was touching
  13. Folks can someone help diagnose? Spoiler works off the switch and speed sensor no probs until I turn side or head lights on , then it goes down (regardless of car speed). If put it up again manually it stays up until I switch headlights off (back to side lights) then it goes back down again. Am I crossing wires behind the dash somewhere????
  14. My cousin has one (56 plate I think). I did consider one before getting the my mk5 golf. St 3 only 2 seats in the back in nice recaro leather but for me with kids it was no use. The st and st2 have 3 back seats but the interiors are horrid. My cousins has a map, inter cooler and exhaust and goes very well. Nice level of performance to be honest if a bit thirsty.
  15. Everyone, after looking for a fuel pump to solve my breakdown issue I found that some were priced at over £100 etc. I contacted this ebay company (Germany based - since they listed plenty of fuel pumps but I did not know if any suited my car) they asked for all details on the car and then provided a quote/invoice and paypal details. In the end I paid £40 delivered and fitted it today and seems to have done the trick. Arrived in approx 3 days. Hopefully this helps someone. Really good service. ATP-spareparts is the seller name. Cheers
  16. Anyone tried a walbro pump? Ebay £70. Says it suits vr6 with minor modifications. Much more reasonalby priced than oe. Any thoughts?
  17. The one I looked at is away but definitely keeping this in mind.
  18. Great stuff, definite starting point! Many thanks
  19. Where is the pump? Where are you suggesting removing fuel lines? Car won't star per say so will turning it over be enough for this test. Any ideas which relay is for the fuel pump? It's an m plate vr6 so likely the later pump. If I can place eyes on it I'll have a look. Thanks again.
  20. Hi everyone, I had the excitement of a breakdown in the corrado yesterday. Hesitant coming out of a roundabout like a big misfire then no revs even though i was pushing throttle. Eventually cut out and won't start now. It will turn over all day but won't start. Sounds like fuel? If so is the pump likely offender, and finally is it a pain to change? Many thanks in advance
  21. It's a 1997 so maybe worth a look.
  22. Hi everyone , can anyone advise if a mk3 golf vr6 would be any use for corrado spares? I'm thinking starter motor, calipers etc. found a cheap one locally with some wheels I could use too. Cheers
