So he agreed to put it on his insurance, and he *still* won't give you the details?? WTF?

He's wasting your time, hand it to the police and your insurer and tell them to sort it out.

Ive gopt all his personal details, address, insurance details, account and client numbers and car reg. But the insurance policy is fully comp on a nother car, and my uinusrance cant trace him unitl i get that info. Which he wont give to me.

They quote me for replacing rear panel and rear bumper incl labour and respray at £1230

I just spoke to the guy again and explained about the court precedings etc etc etc and the inevitability of masses of cash he will have to cough up for my legal fees his own and the car repairs etc and he agreed on inusrance

but he still wouldnt give me his insurtances' number. I give up. Ive seriously had enough.

Ok, call your insurer, and give them the details you have.

They will trace the owner of the car the guy was driving (since you've got the number plate), and then if the owner refuses to name the actual driver, they will be prosecuted themselves..

Leave it up to the insurance company - there's nothing more you can do if they guy refuses to play ball.

 

You can also give them the name and phone number of the guy who was driving. Basically just hand over everything you have and wait....

The number plate of the car that crashed into you is enough. Tell them he gave you incomplete details, or even that you lost the paper or something. Your insurance company can trace his insurance company just from the number plate of the car....

 

Or do you mean he was driving the car without insurance, or under his "drive any car" policy?

yup, it wasnt the car listedn on hi sp olicy, he hasd 3rd part voer on the car that crashed into me, and now hes refusing to give me the car registered to his policy, telling me to call the police etc etc etc my insurance tried calling him and he fobbed them off, and now hes fbbing me off too. Further to my old posts, if you had read them, you can understand y i considered taking the crow bar to head approach.

I have the number plate of the car that crashed into me, not the platte on his policy. I 4got to take it down like a plank. And i cant find the insurance company/broker anywhere, been searching all voer the net and my insurance dont even know who they are

I would definetly get a second and third opinion. They would suggest their own co for the claim, they'll get a nice kick back from it!

i had a set of those league o81s on my mark 2 golf aswell, they are bloody lovely alloys, just wish i could find some with 5 studs, :(

Ive seen them on a corrad oin kingston and in all hinesty mate they only look good when they under the arches like my brothers otherwise they loook pretty bog std.saw em on a rover as well, and they looked shite.

I went to John Ashley VW in new malden, they inspected the car and as storm rightly pointed out my rear panel is FD, and the bumper need replacing, and the exhaust needs to be replaced. I am waiting on their quote but they estimated that it would cost £1500....Thats nearly a write off

I just home they stick to my value on the car and repair it or its gone.

Also they suggested their own company, called ARC who will make the claim for me and give me a bmw courtesy. Is that a good option, or should i stick with my insurance's ppl.

Sorry i see there is another tyre post below/above, but only seems to be talking about 15inch tyres.

 

My front el cheapo tyres that came with my 17" wheels when i swapped them are luckily running low, I think i want some decent tyres, despite people tellin me not worth it on a vr6 go cheap. what do other people have on there 17s?

 

i want obviously cheapest price but decent tyres?? for 205/40/17

 

Does anyone use 205/45/17? would the benefit of these be softer ride but at an increased price.

Im running 205 40 17 s and i got a full set of toyo proxies t1 s for 59 each.....if i was to but them all together the guy at RSR quote me 200, excl fitment, 40 buc for fitment and digital tracking..........BUT..........like tyhe plonker i am, i got 2 at a time....i think the tyre price incl fitment as a standard is 72 a tyre.

I just spoke to vw, and they told me that (as mentioned earlier by storm) my rear panel could be damaged, and so costs could come up to just under a grand since a corrado bumper is very hard to come by.

 

 

Why do you think they are known as STEALERS?????? :D What's the bet if they do have a look at it the panel will be damaged????

Last night saw a lovely black j reg g60 with double exit exhausts in new malden.....any takers??????

not anymore mate, the speed bumps down my road hve dislodged it, and its been pushing up against a clamp and developed a 1 inch hole in it, so all i get is a very large " farting " noise out of the exhaust, heh heh.

Anyone know any welders in london????????????

No he bought it off that guy, martin i think. Absolute minter of a car, and hes spent SO much money on it. It shifts!

Well i only accepted money as he offered it as a gesture. He only offered it cos he was under the impression that his head was gna be kicked in (plus i wrote him a receipt).

True - Insurance it is. Mfuka for driving into me. And i shall be taking it to my local vw. I found the bumper for 394 at eurocar parts and 200 for the labour. so hopefully they will fork out a cheque for 800 and ill flush the back at the same time.
