  10. I've recently bought a late interior for my early valver to brighten it up for getting it back on the road. I noticed the early electrics for windows and mirror switch are different. Any advice please on how to get them wired up. Do I need to buy the late loom or can I change the switches over?? Or even have I made a total cock up and its not possible to fit the late into an early. Any help appreciated cheers

  14. I just bought one of these off ebay. It you got the extra money worth it as its a more solid piece of kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-Driver-Side-Window-Regulator-Motor-New-/300565291284?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45fb166114
  15. Anyone on here still sell the door handle repair kits. If so how much for a pair please folks?? If not where can they be sourced!!
  16. I've recentely had a few problems with one of my temp sensors on my early valver and since swapping the water gauge wire and isv wires round to run the car until I can fix it the car has developed a weird ringing noise (high pitched bleeping/tone sound) around the dizzy and only starts making the sound when the cars warmed up. It only appears above 1500rpm when driving but stops when changing gear. I revved the engine with the bonnet up and caught it so that it made the noise when stationary to work out exactly where it was coming from and its either the dizzy itself or the idle valve. I know the idle valve buzzes and is meant to buzz but this is louder and when running. Could it be the dizzy or its bearings on its way out or the isv. Or is it something totally seperate anyone has experienced. Any help peeps I've done a search but couldn't seem to see anything. Kieran
  17. I have an early valver 1990 with fsh and its just flew through its MOT for the forth year in a row needing just one rear number plate light bulb!! Last three years before has only needed brake pipes or other very minor bits. How good or bad is your rado through MOT time??

    temp issues

I have recently changed two of the temp sensors on the side of the head. Since doing so my car runs hotter?? Anyone know if this is correct and whether using aftermarket sensors will make a difference or whether different sensors will give different readings?? Any help would be appreciated. Im close to putting the old ones back in as they a genuine VW to see if this helps?? I also have a neuspeed fan switch fitted which at first was superb cooling at the right time no probs but recently doesnt seem to keep the car so cool and fan is not kicking in at 80c like its meant to more like 90c. My rado used to run at 90c no matter what even in traffic would never go above and now since changing the sensors it can go up to near 100c?? Cheers in advance Kieran
  20. could be idle valve if its revving up by itself and then settling again, also vacuum leak, fuel air mixture, allsorts of possibilities tbh!! Try doing a search for different things and start with the cheapest and easy tests first. You will find the problem in the end
  21. I've changed everything on my cooling system since I owned the car because it ran hot all the time. Water pump, Head Gasket twice, Every pipe, Oil cooler, Expansion Tank, Radiator twice. After all this and it ran fine with no leaks, losses of water or overheating I fit one of these. Would agree with supercharged to get the overheating problem fixed first then fit either genuine vag or one of these if you still want to. Im not saying these fix a problem but if you get a good one then they can actually be okay :)
  22. I've got an early valver and its goes straight in. Been fitted for over a year now and never missed a beat fan kicks in at about 80-85 and never lets the temp go over 90 (even sitting in traffic when the UK actually has a hot day). On longer runs car never goes over 85 and on cooler days sits at 80 all the way. Would highly recommended if you want to keep temp down. Not sure about later rado's and not sure about the adaptor it only mentions mk3 and mk4. Drop them an email at awesome and see what they say :?
  23. I bought some pure peanut oil off ebay not dear bout £6 inc p&p!! Works a treat all grey plastic areas now black and if its better than peanut butter like I imagine it will be then I wont be doing it till the after the summer hopefully :D Highly recommended and cheaper than back to black and other after market cons!!!!!!
  24. Mine always used to sit at 100 but after another head gasket along with the head being skimmed, new coolant pipes, radiator, oil cooler etc (all of which did need changed due to leaks or failures). Its sits at 90 permanently even in this supposed heatwave!! Got a lower temp rad fan switch fitted now and is definite must if you want to cool sooner rather than later. Kicks in nice an early if sitting in traffic for long times or after long journeys
  25. if its dripping off the filter or from the filter then its defo worth checking the dowty washers and connections around the filter itself. Also the pipes from the tank or to the engine bay for cracks or splits if the pressure of the fuel lines when running stops the leaking like buttles says then it could be before the filter or on its way to the engine bay
