  1. I paid £110 inc VAT for all 16 from a local company autovolks who are supplied from GSF. Its the best thing i've ever done the car runs like new and doesn't sound embarrasing anymore. If you need them get em done. http://www.vwspares.co.uk/corrado.php are cheap aswell but with the postage on top they may be the same as a local company.
  2. My rad fan isnt kicking in at all. Tried cleaning the switch but to no luck. I dont want to start changing everything when i may be able to find the problem first. Any common faults or tests to try first?? Cheers Kieran
  3. Yep its from the back. Will get underneath and move it around a bit. Gonna have a look at the power steering on the weekend. Thanks _leon_
  4. Only when the car is warmed up do i hear the noise. Its only happened for the last few weeks but need the advice. Everytime i turn the steering wheel to go round a corner etc. the power steering makes a whining noise and gets slightly louder the more lock i put on. New steering pump, possible leak or even not enough fluid?? Anyone help?? The other thing is when i have a passenger in the back passenger side a rubbing/grinding noise comes from under the car right where the exhaust sits. My mate has told me mk2 golfs are bad for the exhausts rubbing and said it would be that. Anyone know the cause if its any different?? Cheers
  5. Yeah its a red wire. Thought i'd double check cos i couldn't remember which way the battery loop worked. Nice 1 my C will soon be back on the road :D
  6. Where does the live wire from the alternator connect is it to the positive or the negative of the battery??
  7. Bonnet released itself when i started the engine dont know how dont know why just glad it did. Found the blue lead you mentioned Henny it comes from the alternator along side the earth lead but its still connected! Can anyone help as to why the lights still on or is it yet another new part??
  8. Thats the sort of help i was looking for cheers Henny! Only problem now though is my bonnet decided to stick on the passenger side?? Any help with this??
  9. I've just changed the starter motor in my valver, and after the age it seemed to take doing it, I started her up no problem except the battery light stayed on. Rang my mate at work and he asked about. Someone said that it may be the alternator and if the battery light stays on it usually means thats knackered. The battery light didnt stay on before i changed the starter motor over. Could it be any of the connections from the battery to the alternator or starter motor after changing it?? Anyone help??
  10. Cheers Henny will be getting in touch with me VW dealers. I've been wiggling the key in the ignition everytime i go to start the car and so far it seems to be doing the trick. My mechanic says its a common problem with vw's the golfs, jettas, ventos etc all seem to have it aswell. Cheers for the help guys :D
  11. Yeh i was thinking it could be. Sometimes when i go to start the car theres a delay from turning the key to it starting. Problem is though looking closely theres so many wires exposed and dizzy cap not looking new with no signs of being changed in my fsh it may not be. Even better it cud be two or three things, that would be awesome cos i aint got any cash with buying a house. Cheers for the help! :D
  12. My C has been irratic for starting over the last few weeks. It's even not starting after I have just been driving it say drove round to the shop and came out it aint starting. The battery isnt dead cos i've tested it and the alternator was tested not so long ago, starter motor does though look like it hasn't been changed since new although when car doesn't start it just doesn't even attempt to tick over. Me and my mate have came to the conclusion its a bad earth cos everytime we fiddle about with the wires underneath, close to and connected to the battery the cars starts. Can anyone shed any light on this or if you've experienced this before do you have a conclusion?? Its a 1990 valver and im going to try and get a free check out at the local auto electrics tomorrow. Cheers Kieran :)
  13. Admiral are the boys for me. I'm 23 and have no previous insurance on my own. Got a 1990 valver with alloys and lowered. £920 last year £650 renewal for this year! Got a mock quote with elephant though for the storm and it was only 100 sheets more, £750 that aint bad like?!
  14. Got me a set of 4 off ebay for £58 with good tyres all round and then got a spare off chris hill for £20!
  15. Cheers was thinking along those lines but have to be careful with my choice of adhesive so it wont come loose. Gonna try and use some black cable ties aswell but will be tricky to keep them behind and covered up. Cheers for the help just wanted peace of mind before trying it.
  16. I have a 1990 16v Corrado and just purchased a vr6 front grille from GPC. I knew the fittings were different before i bought but didnt realise all fiitings top and bottom on the later grille are totally different to the standard holes in mine. Thought the middle one just needed knocked out. Anyone done this before and can shed some light on a way to get round this??
  17. Car looks quality! Cant wait to see it when you've finished all your plans for it PM me when you change the front grille if your still selling the standard one??
  18. I need to replace my fuel pump as its on its way out (getting more noisy everyday). Looking into buying a one of ebay cheap cos not much cash. Its described as a G60 fuel pump although it will fit my 1.8 16v. The pressure is 3.2 bar constant and 2.9/3.0 bar with a heavy load. What pressure does a 1.8 16v need?? I ask this cos i was told it may need to be more than 3.2 bar :?
  19. Looks awesome! Ya cant beat a C in black (sorry looked black). Think you should put the side rubbing strips back on, don't know what it is but gives the corrado more of an edge! Just my opinion tho :D
  20. Yeh can totally tell the difference used to have 15" oz's on which were like racer bike tyres compared to now. Its amazing how dropping the car 40mm and fitting 195's instead of 185's holds her perfectly to the ground
  21. Lowered 40mm on Bilstein Streetline kit and original sebring alloys for now until i can save up enough for some more tatsy wheels!
  22. Not sure whether the filter has been changed recently or not. Im guessing it hasn't?! Where will i find a filter and roughly how much??
