That be a coilpack dude...
-
ECP ones are crap - try VWspares.co.uk - much cheaper than GSF
-
I may be wrong but it may be the type of lead you have - I think something changes 2000 onwards...
-
It's is the same as an 8v Golf.... with an ADY engine...
-
No thats correct - notice the O.T. marks line up and threre is also a notch on the cam pulley which lines up with another on cover at 3 O'clock.
-
well tell us where it was then!?! I assume it was under the blanking plate in front of the gearstick being a mk4 based car??
-
How much crap do you carry about in your car?

Oh dear! - any pics of the area mate?? Maybe HT lead failure : - high resistance = heat...
-
Also worth trying a new cap for the sake of a fiver too - the pressure relief valves seize up, new ones are blue and have been revised i think...
-
Jeez - must be done up tight - should only be 125Nm I think so should be do-able with a standard size wrench really...
-
Yeah - with a soft faced mallet tho as you don't want to damage it...
-
Hmm - could be something loose like a bolt or ball joint - I'd get it to a good tyre place and get them to investigate with the car on the ramp (ie no weight on it) I meant what make clip is it, the original VW ones are made by Terry and are only about 5mm wide - no good for clamping onto silicon hose... get a proper Jubilee clip on it - should be about 1cm wide...
-
Hopefully you've done it by now but PlusGas is the stuff to use... If you have major probs then it might be worth buying the rest of the bits you need from VW - I did this with my Koni's as half the bolts were already supplied in the kit - the other ones plus spring plates etc came to about £40...
-
This should help you with colour codes... http://www.snstuning.com/DIY/Digi%20Diagrams/ecu.htm Good luck!
-
1 - could be a defective tyre or damaged wheel, could also be rust making the wheel not sit flat to the disc or the same between the disc and hub... I'd start by swapping tyres front to back and seeing if it makes a difference... 2 - Is it a proper Jubilee clip of the original Terry one?
-
g60bv, yeah, 5th gear and hard on the brakes...
-
Hello mate - leave the fronts as the standard mk4 items - it's not really important to shorten to a particular height like the back where they act as 'spring assistors' I don't think there is a thread but it's the same as a mk3 golf or any other VW really - haynes manual from a golf/passat should cover it... I take it you got spring compressors? - you will need them
-
VW do sell them, tell them to look at page 40-00 in sub group 33 - muppets.

Nice one Jim - did they sort the idle issue? -
There is a screw on the inside for the triangular bit...
-
did any cars across the pond have this interior?
Supercharged replied to vdubCorrado's topic in Interior
Velour interiors ming but with the half leather it's an excellent base to get trimmed in alcantara... -
Your speedo would play up if it was that sensor - more likely to be a problem with the clocks on control unit like a dry joint etc...
-
LOL - Yeah don't bother trying Grant Motorsport either...
-
Yep - another vote for the uniroyal Rainsport 1's... I'm on my second set now, first set lasted 20k miles... Got 4 fitted by Tyres Direct in Beccles for under £50 a corner (inc tyre disposal) in 195/45/16, very good service too!
