Corrado16ved, i'd try bleeding it first but yes it sounds like its knackered... If you go MK4 you will need the pair plus the goodridge conversion hoses, I got mine last year at a show for £121 all in brand new and no exchange - might be worth going to santa pod on sunday!
-
Stone0311, stick the car on axel stands and start her up with the top off the pas bottle, now move the steering from lock to lock a few times to expell any air.... hopefully this will do it - did you run the pump dry at all??
-
You need VAGCOM really - Vince will do this anyway at the RR day and be able to offer advice...
-
Yes they are the late ones... colinstubbs, I think he already has a late exterior but if not I have done a knowledge base artical for the upgrade - hopefully not missed anything...!

Steve, Eric (Tempest) is organising another trip to germany this year and we plan to visit various places but undecided exactly what yet... I think this would be your best bet as Eric being a countryman can translate and his planning and organisational skills are second to none! Last years Karmann trip was fantastic, I would like to go there again and maybe Wolfsburg and the engine plant and Pheaton factory...

Have a read of the artical in the knowledge base if you've not already... It is the tensioners/guides that wear but if you have gone as far as to replace these it would be silly not to replace the actual chain itself with the gearbox etc off. The mk4 guides are a solid material and whilst they still wear, they will not suddenly start chewing up the chain like the originals.

It could be both handbrake mechs seized or the calipers themselves due to old fluid but first of all I would check the rear brake compensator valve - these can be unseized with lots of WD40 and a large hammer!
-
That would be illegal - what state are your lenses and reflectors?? I've done bulbs, loom and lenses and lights are as good as any new car...
-
Headlight lenses are cheap, fogs don't matter...
-
I think it's in the clocks but I have been wrong before back in 1989...
-
Dust sheild around shock absorber?
-
Keep it if you can Sally... Unless you get offered a silly price for it you'll regret it!!!
-
Who's gonna ring the number then???
-
Look ok to me and already seem to have the conversion hoses fitted!

Just nicked this from another forum whilst trying to find the address of the technical centre which has now apparently closed... /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Now that the Koni motorsport/ special projects outfit at Mytchett, Frimley Green Surrey has closed (it was run by Camberley Auto Factors), the main place in the UK to have these shock absorbers re-built is J E Banks of Petersborough. But I've just searched for them and can't find J E Banks at all. One of the original Mytchett team have set up there own premises near Silverstone (Glebe Farm), and now deal with Koni direct. So they are your best bet. Sportsline Suspension is their name. And they offer the same advice refurbishment and special projects design support as the Mytchett business did. Contact name is Paul Davies, his Website is: http://www.sportslinesuspension.com/ They may be able to deal with you using the code numbers on your shock absorbers and the application details. State of the shocker: Providing the internal cylinder walls are not scored your shockers can always be re built - then a new one can be made to the same pattern as the one supplied too.

Oh sorry - I enlarged the pic and see the broken wire now, new plug needed really - should be able to get from VW You also need to find out why it broke - rear engine mount may be knackered....
-
That earth wire doesn't look to healthy!
-
STORM 2, I only know of one type on mk4's but there are variants... Unless they are very cheap and very good condition I would buy these new....
-
You should be able to get the Aero wipers from your VW dealer - don't use the part numbers on here tho as you will need LHD ones I assume...
-
You can remove it with a 3 legged puller but it's far easier to just take it back and get the correct MOMO one...
-
I thought the black surround should be there on Corrado's... looks better IMO
-
wheres the best place to get a new sunroof seal vw ???????
Supercharged replied to jekvr6's topic in Suppliers Forum
Erm... the 'seal' is meant to let water in, a new one won't fix the leak! Check the drain holes! -
Heavy duty cable tie??
-
Yep, seems email is too...
