Mine will be off the road for ages.... -
Which forum was that Shaggsy and what did they say about it?
-
By solenoid via the keyfob/alarm.
-
Yup, new A3 fronts and S2000 rears.

Thought the general reaction would be that Jim, he didn't want to do anything OTT and wanted to be original, and was aiming for a Euro-ish look, which is kind of along the OEM+ lines. He wanted to gauge a reaction from people who are in that kind of scene. I hope the work on my car will be that good...

Cheat!!! Just cause you've seen it before. And yeah, it's a 406.
-
Hahaha, love the way you checked the stud pattern first! I shouldn't have had that pic up there. But no it's not a Honda, or Alfa paint? What do you think of the car, I know you're quite VW-orientated...
-
My mate has been working on a demo car for his bodyshop, and this is where I will be taking my car when it's ready to be done. I know it's not really the VW style, but what do you guys think of it? The workmanship is spot on, even if you don't like it cause it's not subtle enough or something! Bear in mind most of the work done on this is COMPLETELY custom, the front bumper is totally hand made, same for the bootlid. Oh, and does anyone know what it is, and what marque the colour came from?

I have the option of buying a used Supersprint manifold for 200 quid, but I read about a Dutch company in PVW or Golf+ a while back who do brand new manifolds for that price, has anyone heard of them or is it worth going for the Supersprint one at that price?
-
Basically, how hard is it to adapt an late exhaust to fit an early Corrado - is it worth the hassle on a second hand system, or is it a straightforward job? Thanks!
-
Ahh yeah, I shall get the TB done as well, thanks Henny! I've been offered a full Supersprint system as my current Milltek one is wrecked, it has a Supersprint manifold on it too - would this be a wise move?
-
Is that with the 1.8T or the twincharged engine then Alan?
-
No sam, i'm after one that would flow more air etc, if i wanted a different looking one I could polish it...
-
Nah not found out what the problem is, so just biting the bullet really. I can pick up a bare block for 80 quid if need be, so I can use one of those instead of mine if mine is wrecked.
-
Haha, Walesy, your an idiot! Thanks for the help guys, I can now let the guy who asked know that it will be somewhere between 161 and 245090303049503493049039405 bhp.

I've been looking around for a new inolet manifold for my G60, my friend just had one brought in from the US for his Evo 2, and it's very sexy. Is there anyone that does an off the shelf manifold, cause if not I might look into getting one made up....
-
If you've seen my post in the wanted section, you'll know that I'm rebuilding my G60, to a 1.9. It's been getting slower and slower, and I know the previous owner cracked a piston, so I thought I'd just bite the bullet and throw a load of money at it, and rebuild it. I've been asked what kind of power I'm going to get out of it, and to be honest, I have no idea! Here's the spec, tell me what you think.... JE 82.5mm pistons (1850cc I think) ARP Head Bolts ARP Rod Bolts Crank/fly balanced and possibly lightened R1 Charger Ported/polished head Full s/s system stainless 4 branch Looking at a cam too, so probably a piper? Also looking for a new inlet manifold... SWG Twin inlet kit Toothed belt kit/68mm pulley FMIC Intercooler What do you reckon?

I am looking to buy some forged pistons for my G60, but I am unsure if the ones I have found will weaken the walls of the bores too much. As far as I know the G60 has an 81mm(?) bore, and the JE pistons I have found which will enlarge the engine size to a 1.9, are 82.5mm. What is the general opinion on pistons this size? Thanks....
-
Ok, cool, thanks, thats more or less what I thought, I thought it would change the compression ratio. I will contact Scat Enterprises as I hear their rods are very good....
-
Thanks very much for all that information, I have had a price for some Wossner pistons in the UK, and I will be emailing my contact tomorrow about the JE pistons, and the Bahn Brenner ones too. Darren - have you got any more information on using 16v rods - can I use any rods for a 16v engine or do they need to be specific ones, and what problems, if any, will i come across?
-
Well, there you go - I don't need new rods! I just thought since I can get a good price on them then I may as well - you say I shouldn't bother really?
-
So does anyone know a US supplier of rods too? I don't think Eagle do any....
-
More or less pointless than the Cayenne? Discuss.....

Photoshop?
