Hi, Mock fitted the strut brace today while the engine was out, and it seems that there's not much room for the expansion tank - it's going on a G60 but the brace was for a VR - should there be any difference, and has anyone got a pic of an installed strut brace on a G60? Thanks

Yeah the wheels on image... U dont see ? No mate, Image Wheels - see here http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/

what else is he doing to it then, what's the next level?!?
-
Mine will hopefully look something like that but i'll be keeping the scuttle, and it will be body coloured....
-
LOvely - will be taking some ideas fom that

seen a couple on there, doesn't seem like many people have got rid of the battery, header tank, wiring, and washer bottle on a g60....i'll have a looky round. How comes people don't do it to the G? Lots of people smooth 20VT bays
-
Anyone? Maybe can Mods move this to Engine Bay? I might get a response then...
-
Hi, I just wondered if there are many examples of smoothed engine bays on G60's out there? I don't know of many off-hand, and I know that obviously there's a lot of pipework, but I can get rid of some wiring and bottles etc.... cheers!

Not sure on the offset or how wide they are to be honest - I have a receipt somewhere I think but they were bought new by the previous owner so they are the correct offset - i'd guess that they are 7 or 7.5 wide. Are you looking to buy some new, and what Corrado do you have as I am told they are now quite rare in 4-stud. You can also see more pictures here: http://s58.photobucket.com/albums/g280/ ... r%20Shoot/

I'm keeping mine 8v, but will take a look at it to see how similar it would be. I'll copy this post over to dubforce, thanks!

Ok, been doing some research and spoke to Darren this morning, and wanted to know which of these you guys would go for - I know the 1.9 is more popular, but is it necessarily stronger because of the thicker walls or is there not much of a difference? Basically I'm looking at a 1.9 with forged pistons and rods (to be doubly sure), or a PG overbored to 83mm, using a 9A crank, 144mm 16v rods and pistons with cutouts for the oil jets. Any feedback would really help here!

oops, now it is Edit, Crap pic - try here instead: [/img]

Well, the engine builder is looking for 300 at the moment, I'm aiming a little lower!! There's a lot of good stuff going into this engine - we're looking into every possible detail really. Looking to use a Megasquirt ECU I hope, so a lot of the mapping will be done by us, and finally mapped on a RR.

I'm preparing to build my fully forged/balanced 2.0 g60 lump, and just wondering how many people have used standalone management, and also if anyone has ditched the distributer and used coilpacks/individual coilpacks on the g60 before? I'd be interested to know if you removed the pulley, or just shortened the shaft and blanked it, like with the balancer shafts on an Evo. Cheers.

Hi, another question.... How do you remove the rear quarter, rear window and windscreen window rubbers, or do they not come out as all the windows are bonded in? Cheers!!
-
Hi... I have been stripping my car, so it's ready to go up to the bodyshop. Is the trim that is under the windscreen (that is beneath the wipers, as such) usually glued on?? It snapped to pieces getting it off - are they still available from VAG? Also, the same question with the boot numberplate trim - is that usually glued on?! Thanks

Anyone at all? I only want to know if this size rod will fit, cheers.
-
Standard crank, and unsure of pistons at the moment, will be going for some kind of forged items but not sure which brand yet.
-
Can anyone tell me if this size rod will fit the G60 Corrado lump (Engine code PG) Length: 144mm Pin Size: 20mm Journal size: 51mm Would really help as I am struggling to find forged rods off the shelf for a decent price....
-
Crasher and henny: I won't be using standard pistons, I will be getting forged items made custom, so either looking at an 8:1, 8:5:1 or 9:1. With regards to H/G, been told I can use an ABF one. Khurrado - I don't want to do a 16vG60 as the parts seem to be too high in price, and I can do this fairly cheaply. Any more input is welcome, cheers.
-
I'm being toldby an engine builder that you can use the 9a bottom end mated to the standard pg head to make a 2.0 g60, with slight modification to a breather, and the charger bracket. Has anyone heard of this before, or is it not possible? Cheers.

He does everything mate, it's a full bodyshop. Check out http://www.konceptz.co.uk for more info. Ask for Andy and tell him I sent you. Shaggsy, tell your forum people it's a 3.0 V6, not a TD! And the marque the colour is from is....Land Rover. Not that I was meant to say anything ------------------------------------------------ EDIT ----------------------------------------------- Seems the website is down - try this number in working hours instead! 01579 389289

depends on if it's an early or late Corrado. Yours is a late Corrado, and that looks like bar type hangers so you should be absolutely fine.
