  1. Pretty much the same state it was in the last time you saw it. It does go off on holiday quite a bit though.....and usually comes back with a little something extra added, a new aerial, a good wash..... last time it came back with a Welsh Dragon sticker in the window! It's become the DG Autotech loan car

Bet yours is as minty as ever!

  2. Not sure quite when the otter thing started, but it was during Toms otter phase. Apparently my car 'Goes like an otter on heat!". All references to otter should now make sense (well some......in a Tom kind of way  ).

Yes the fans will be soft started and fully variable speed. Not just 3 speeds but 255 speeds if you really needed to know that 8)

The prototype has been running on the bench over the weekend and is still running fine. Will keep you all posted with progress.

  3. Yeeeh!!! Congrats from us to!!!! As Andy just mentioned it is a great adventure being a dad (& mum!).

Loving the new motor too! I actually drove one last week for the first time in 6 years and I really want another now... :( Between Karen and I we had 3 at one point, 2 road cars and one rally prepared

Bet it goes rather well with 130hp, comes out at over 150hp per tonne  a Corrado VR6 only comes out at 142hp per tonne......

  4. LOL! I'd forgotten all about the 'naming' that had gone on here!

It's a new box of tricks to replace the standard troubled Corrado / Golf fan controller. It's reached the stage of working prototype and is currently on test at DG on the bench.

    Some of the planned features:

2 x variable fan speed outputs. The idea being to control the main car fans and / or a charge cooler rad fan (like on my car).

4 x motor / driver outputs. The obvious one being the aux water pump, but also anything else that people can think of.

5 x temperature / pressure inputs. Water, Oil, Throttle position etc

4 x General inputs. For fan switches, engine speed etc.

Optional remote display. A nice display that goes in car so you can monitor what's going on and set alarm levels for any of the inputs. Say inlet air get's too warm etc bring on a red light and highlight the problem on the display.

The main function is to control the engine temperature much better. A new sensor placed in the water hose will monitor temperature and bring the cooling fans on very slowly as it get's to temperature, then ramp them up to speed when the engine gets to temperature. Should be able to hold the engine temperature within ±3 degrees. Much better than the ±25-30 we normally get!

More info soon..... the main thing is that I'm working on it until it's finished this time

  5. We've been meaning to sorting this out for ages. You've got a set of 288/312 calipers that you want to fit but can't find a source for the brake lines without buying a whole kit with a load of rear lines that you don't need...... So we've put this kit together.

    brake hoses 312.jpg[/attachment:evvvq3fd]

    The kit contains:

2 x Fully Stainless Steel braided brake lines. Teflon inner tube, stainless steel over braid, clear PVC outer sheath.

    2 x Banjo bolts

4 x Squash style copper washers

The normal lines you can buy have plated steel fittings, but we wanted that extra bit of quality that only stainless steel gives 8)

Price for the kit is £49 + £4 P & P in the UK. We can take payment by banker transfer or give us a ring with your card details 01299 253373.

    The list:

    KAD VR6

    Coullstar *Paid* *shipped*

    John-M *Paid* *Shipped*

    Purple Tom *Paid* *Shipped*

  6. Hot off the press ( laser machine 8) )

Laser cut stainless steel 312mm brake caliper fitting kit. We developed this kit when Gareth (OSV446) kindly let us tinker with his Raddo. The shields help keep all the road muck off the ABS sensors and stator wheel plus they look really great 8) .

You must have minimum 16" wheels for clearance. They are designed for the standard VW / Audi calipers but may fit other makes with a little trimming.

    Included in the kit:

2 x Stainless steel brake shields

2 x Stainless steel spacer for 312mm caliper

    4 x High tensile steel bolts (10.9)

4 x Stainless steel anti vibration washers

2 x Stainless steel screw (replaces the rusty one off the old brake shield)

Price for the complete kit is £59 + £6.50 P&P.

We can also supply braided front brake lines with all stainless fittings (teflon inner, stainless steel braid with clear outer PVC) to suit these @ £43 with a brake fitting kit or £49 + £4 P&P separate for a pair.

  7. Hi Gary, yep going to have a bit of a thrash with the other C's hopefully and make a big effort to stay on the black stuff :pale:

Yeh like I said, I have my doubts. Looks like a trip to Santa Pod is in order. Maybe they'll have timing gear that works.....

  8. It's a great way to realise just how heavy a Corrado is

Chatting with a guy next to me in the queue about his mk1 Golf. Stripped out, just a drivers seat, weighs 750kg and has a 215hp 2l 16v ABF on throttle bodies. My Corrado weighs 1/2 a tonne more at 1260kg!!! Didn't need the sprint, I could tell you who was going to get off the line quicker

Great fun though even if my car looked very slow compared to these .......

    I need 4wd
