  1. Much more solid braking for the same amount of pedal travel at high and low speeds.. Have only ran 25miles on them to bed in new discs and pads. Ive got the goodridge hoses on aswell. Spent a while rubbing them down, went for red in the end, piccies will be tomorrow when ive cleaned it all up and have some daylight...
  2. I did the master cylinder today and now it is lovely, loving the bigger brakes and the pedal feels great.. Cheers for the advice fellas...
  3. Really sorry to hear this Andy, i hope for your sake that shes doesnt claim... I just hope this is a blessing in disguise, youve got a stonking G60 that needs a bit of tidying and this could be the time. Best of luck and keep us posted...
  4. I believe with certain 16s you can get the 312mm ones on... Like you say, the disc size difference isnt huge but the piston is a lot bigger. Depending on whether you have any serious power mods in the pipeline id say these will be adequate..
  5. I dont think i specified a model of Lupo when i purchased mine from the dealers so i reckon theyre all the same....
  6. I did, went for red in the end and they look lovely, ive still got the backs to paint but ive missed not driving the car so ill do them in a week or so..
  7. Your wheels are mahoosive, i thought youd be able to put 312mm or bigger under there...
  8. Well, after a few days off the road ive finished the 288mm Golf VR6 brake conversion... Took it out for a run tonight and what a huge improvement, so much steadier under braking, they feel great!!! Had a bit of a faff getting them on as the passenger side connection between the flexi hose and solid brake line had seized so had to remove the brake line, cut it back and reswage it.. I appreciate that bigger brakes are available but for those of us who still want to wear 15 inch rims then this is the way ahead!! Its a quite straight forward job and the calipers required (either Golf or Passat VR6) are widely available. Ill be taking some photos tomorrow for all to see..
  9. Tyler R, liking the TT gear knob transplant. Did you tap it out and thread onto the original stick???
  10. I had a go in a 2.0 GTI MK3 the other day and i was pleasently suprised with it. Quite a weighty car to do drive unlike some other more modern cars than Corrados. I didnt think there was much in it power wise between the golf and my old 2.0 16v rado.. The mk2 is a way better looking car though, youll just loose some of the modern benefits. IMO i dont think you can go wrong with either...
  11. Hoping to have a go at this in a few mins.. Ill post up later how i got on and what i think of the new 288s.
  12. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... ing+wheels Have a look through the link, theres a load of suggestions in there..
  13. You dancer tonedef, ill get it sorted tomorrow....
  14. Have just completed the upgrade to 288mm brakes and follwong the bleeding procedure have excess pedal travel. Have bled at all calipers and the 2 nipples on the ABS block, definitely no bubbles and have ran through to good, clean fluid. Ive had a good look through the search and see mentions of bleeding the master cylinder but cant find where to do this. Any advice or tips would be good..
  15. Good work Andy, smoking in cars does make a mess!! I used to smoke in some of my old cars and it was bad but not as bad as that, he must have been on about a million a day!!
  16. Good call by toon vw, after that id say keep it, take it to a few shows and if someone makes you an offer you cant refuse sell it. Photos Jimmi, we need to see photos... Looking forward to seeing it in the metal in a months time..
  17. That TT is cool and the gang, loving the rims and i reckon the de-spoilered look works a treat.. Looking forward to seeing what comes next..
  18. Nicely decked there, can imagine that the chin spoiler is gonna take a good battering...
  19. For fixings and screws i generally just go to the dealer... Id imagine that would be your best bet for the sound deadening and box foam.

    which lights

Personal taste on this one. Click on gallery in my signature for all red on a green Rado, youll have to paint them yourself though as no one makes them...
  24. I cant imagine it wearing very well to be honest, id just leave it as it is..
  25. Ive spent just over half my driving years in a Vag - Leon and the 2 Rados and i would say i was a huge VW fan.. I remember at 17 thinking the coolest cars were the MK1s and MK2s and couldnt wait for the day when i could get my hands on something like that. If i were to get rid of my Rado id be looking at a VAG as a replacement and have every intention of owning a few more Vag cars as daily runners etc over the comming years..
