G60 Front brake prices - disc, caliper, carrier
Goldie replied to StuartFZR400's topic in Drivetrain
Second hand is the way ahead. Ive just sold my 280mm calipers and carriers for £45 delivered.. -
Bloody hell Tom, what is that all about????? You dont need a shave there, you need an estimate!!!
-
I was like this for my first Rado and for the second i was even worse, i bet youll be grinning like a cheshire cat when you get the keys, enjoy it..
-
Very nice indeed, and a lovley Mk2 you got there.. No harm in getting other wheels and having the speedlines so you can chop and change. Nice subtle changes are the way ahead. Enjoy it..

Ive only got the surrounds on mine but they are fine, havent had any probs.. I know herisites has the full set up, may be worth giving him a shout.

Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE
Goldie replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
Can you do the same for me please? -
Looks similar to the Reiger ones that quite a few people have, I think some of them include Bally, Jay Renshaws old 24valver and Blue Joe G60..
-
Ive started to notice my drivers side becoming stiffer. I can tell its going because the passenger side is so smooth in comparison.. Is the kit easy to use and does it have to already be broken to be fitted, i think id rather prevent a broken handle than cure it...

Big improvement over standard brakes, so much more of a positive feel to them without having to slam them on. Itll be the type of mod where i reckon ill get used to them quickly and not notice how good they are until driving one without and thinking 'is this gonna stop!!' I never really considered black, dont think its a match for green cars, mine was a choice between red and silver. I didnt want anything that doesnt look like it was meant to be there...

Discs and pad are EBC items, the discs are grooved and drilled (not all the way through just dotted). I removed EBC ones to do the upgrade and havent had any probs other than a warped disc. Id done about 5000miles on them and was provided with a full set of replacements under guarantee.

I think the calipers would fit on the 4 stud hubs, im not sure about disc availability. My calipers, discs and pads are for a 95 to 98 Golf VR6. As for clearance on your 16s, i cant see 288 being a prob but 312s seem to vary depending on the inside of the rims. Im sure someone will have the answer though.

So would i and i hope one day i will.
-
They are a replacement for the standard so were prepared and painted off the car.. I will be painting the rear ones on the car.
-
You know what im like though Andy, i cant leave the car alone... Painting the calipers has just given me one more thing to clean..
-
Its the Halfords own brand stuff. Only difference i found between that and the foliatec is that its a bit thinner and needs more coats..
-
Thanks very much, its filthy at the moment, its been in a dusty garage for nearly a week so needs some tlc...
-
Heres a few close ups of the brakes... Im hoping to give the whole car a good clean up at the weekend and get the rears painted next week so more to come.

Would it not be more cost effective to get the whole lot done while you are getting it done, id imagine itll only cost another few hundred for a complete job??
-
Still looks great Tyler R, a definite future mod for me..
-
Good luck with the new business.. Is it cost effective to retrim stearing wheels or would i better off finding another??
-
Ive finaly got round to binning my existing 3 prong wheel nuts as they are a big problem in the making!! Its been years since ive purchsed any locking nuts so does anyone have any recommendations?? Id like something that has a good reputation for durability. Also, are the wheel nut covers available from the dealers or is there somewhere else i can get them and how much?? Thanks...
-
Tyler R, Is it black leather and chrome, also does it have the gear pattern for a 6speed box?? Ive had my eyes peeled for one of these for a while but want it to have the 5spd pattern...
