Or here! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 39683&rd=1 It does say post 92 and not VR6. I was referring to the universal joints at that time. The rack for a VR6 is well over £350 + VAT from the dealer. The UJs are "only" £200+VAT.. The VR6 has a different rack from the post-'92 non-VRs.

It's an old trick, and I don't think it really *does* anything much, but try sticking the steering column on a different height setting...
-
Jedi's pump is a VR6 pump, with Diff Lock valves... Don't think it'll work on the 16v..
-
No it won't. It has too many outlets, for a start.. Who did the diagnosis? What was the error code? It's more commonly an electrical fault than the pump itself.

The other alternatives are very time consuming: 1) pore over the scrapyards trying to find a pair that aren't broken 2) pore over ebay trying to find a pair that aren't £120 each (harder than it sounds) 3) get the glass from the cheaper early lamps, cut the bust glass off your existing surrounds and bond the new glass onto it using silly-cone glue 4) send the whole lot to some geezer in the US, who will fit clear lenses, made from toughened glass, which will not break again 5) replace the bloody stupid things with a black grille, and slip the MOT man a fiver each year. Any other suggestions? ;)
-
Heh, as usual. Well yeah, I could sort them out, but then something else would break, you know how it is.. :) Best to live with the current fault, on the basis that it's minor, and nothing *else* will break till I fix this one!! ;)

Don't like 'em. I've never driven an S3, but I don't like 'em. Good luck to ya Jedi, they're fast and strong and extremely well built (residuals look good, too), but honestly they're pretty much a matter transport device. They're boring to look at, and by all accounts boring to drive. Unlike the rattley clattery VR6 that looks great (but not "pretty"), is rare, and makes you want to keep driving it.. It *is* soul destroying listening to all the rattles and clatters, and the constant pratting about with things that are broken or about to break, but the S3 would not be my choice of replacement. My 2p.. :)

You sure it's a Corrado you're driving? You might wanna double check... ;)
-
The list of jobs is in the service log book, iirc. Either there or the owners manual.
-
Hell yeah, I have the same experience every time I fix something. Something else goes wrong...
-
(But ignore the "engine speed sensor - no signal" error code unless the crank is turning, by the way..)
-
If I remember my physics, wires increase in resistance when they're hot, Henny... The battery, on the other hand, needs a good thin electrolytic fluid to transport high currents, which is not helped by the cold weather..
-
'till it fails an MOT, or you scare yourself and decide to fix it...
-
I'm reminded that the Civic Type R comes in exactly three colours, and has zero options when in the middle of discussions about the number of colours/interior colours that were available for the Corrado...
-
Except walls don't go "moooo" .....
-
If it's drastically overfuelling you'll be knackering the catalyst.. best to get it sorted asap.
-
Where the hell do you live? I wouldn't even expect a cosy tent for £36k!! ;)
-
OR your gauge is misreading...
-
I'd guess it's supposed to read "£6000"

The work required is the same, exactly, between the two cars. The galaxy is little more than rebadged, it's basically a VW. Don't think anyone ever asked Ford how much the timing chain parts are for the VR6, so can't compare, but tbh the bulk of the bill is labour, the parts cost is pretty small.
-
Damn... :(
-
New steering rack for a VR6 is around £400+VAT from VW. Exchange can be had for less from GSF. The 16v/G60 cars use the same racks as the mk2 Golf iirc. But check that before taking my word for it!

For those who don't approve of road racing.. don't look here

Ah, that one... Been posted a while back, iirc. Supposedly shot in Russia. -

Looks a lot like a broken link to me... Don't often see "..." in a link do ya? -
Yep, course they can. £200+VAT from VW though!!! Can't buy 'em new anywhere else.
