Must say really enjoyed the trip up to Elsecar today, first time I've ventured up North for it as its a little bit of a hike but worth the effort despite the weather. Helped out a forum member by delivering some wings, save courier fees and potential damage. Generally enjoyed a much more relaxed, 'old skool' style show. Atmosphere reminded me more of some of the shows I went to when first getting into the VW world. Great to see so many Corrado's knocking about as well, in all guises from Judith's impeccable Storm to a lovely modified Bordeaux Red G60 at the far end. Food & drink extremely reasonable, got music levels & choice about spot on, loved looking at Rallye's and they even had owls. Yes Owls. Might jack the whole car thing in and focus on these wonderful creatures. All in all great day out and chuffed I got up early to make the trip.

Ive messed with various colours on my Aqua Blue and cover never get anything to look better than shiny silver or polished. You can get away with grey/anthracite centres but you still need some shiny silver to add some detail. Purely MO.

As discussed today Nick, this is definitely the way to go, Don't see why a decent bodyshop couldn't achieve an almost factory finish with correct, recessed fitment. Simply acquire a complete pair of US bumpers ends and give them to the shop with your bumpers. Gives them the full idea of how it should look and you get perfectly fitted and recessed side markers/repeaters. I've seen this home-brewed with Mk4 Golf times and it never looks or fits right without the correct bumper recess.
