  1. does anyone know the above? also would anyone know who can supply viton valve steam seals in the uk?
  2. just did some serious reading, i now underdstand the benefit of these valves - very nice
  3. thank you for the informative reply. Am i right in saying that the +1mm ferrea valve you are referring to also require the use of the ferrea valve lock, spring and retainers? Also what is it about the construction of stainless inlet and inconel exhaust valves that make them so well suited to turbo application over the stock/run of the mill equipment Hope you don't mind answering these questions you seem to have a usefull knowledge bank and i like to learn as much as i can before i spent my hard earned money. I have also heard of few tuners only upgrading the exhaust valves and not the inlet which leads me to believe they are more prone to wear/more constrictive than the inlets valves - does my theory agree with your knowledge?
  4. just read your entire build thread - your rado was amazing mate just as i got to the end i couldn't help but think "snap!" lol....as we've have quite a similar fleet of engines: - i dont have a rado but i have a mk3 vr6 which has been owned by the family for the past 11+ years. It has similar bodywork spec to your car and tan nappa leather all over the interior (dash headliner etc) - which is going going turbo this yr. It pretty much has all the chassis mods your rado has + a few more (down to the cnc metal bushing on the gearbox bellhousing and all the short shift mechanisms!) &... also the other car on the drive is a mk5 r32 dsg in the same blue lol just found that a bit freaky lol even though the rado is gone, i just have to take my hat off and say it was an amazing machine and i can totally relate to the graft and car you have given it.
  5. GSF sell stock exhaust valves, were fine when i rebuilt my head I have also used the same valves in the same on a n/a vr6 but this new head is being used for a f/i engine which should run about 17psi and someone i know who is running a very very similar for the past few years has said to me as an area of improvment from his own head to look into sodium filled valves due to the excessive heat from the turbo engine also sorry for startin 2 topics the second question was regarding big end bearings... i'm looking for an upgrade for something a bit more durable than stock as my research from various tuners has lead me to believe now that generally the big end bearing tend to be the weakest point in terms of the conrod assembly and as i am installing arp rod bolts and disturbing the oringal bearings these will need replacing
  6. or are stock valves even sodium filled? as i have heard contradicting information from various tuners now i hope someone can clear this up for me thank u

  11. I've upgraded to 288mm and later style calipers from obd2 cars a few years ago Going to be doing a bit of an engine overhaul this summer and was wondering if there is a master cylinder upgrade for this car to increase clamping power as i have been driving a mk4 20v turbo (same size brakes 288mm and same calipers)
  12. aimed at all the guys that converted their vr6 from obd1 to obd2 how long did it take in hours approximately? just interested to know
