  1. I could be up for this. I've not seen the fb stuff myself but last year was good so count me in!
  2. The red dot items are the plugs for the rear abs sensors and I'd hazard a guess that the brown wire is for the alarm.
  3. My wheels were balanced and still did it. I took it to a local wheel specialist who can check if a wheel is running true or not and it turned out all 4 were egg shaped despite only feeling the vibration when over taking on the motorway. Got them trued and no problems now even when overtaking a bit eagerly. I don't know why I think this but I'm sure that wheels are only balanced at 60 mph so more than that and the fault becomes more pronounced.
  4. Sounds like you have an admirer Jim!
  5. This car has lovely amounts of engineering porn in it!
  6. That is a stunning colour! Not the gold for me though.
  7. Persevere with finding a loom, it looks burnt out up to the pin so will need replacing from there.
  8. Works fine for me. Uninstall Tapatalk and give it a fresh install. That often cures any faults that I sometimes get with TapaTalk.
  9. Same switch, different front just as susceptible to catching fire when the internals break down with age if you have the standard wiring circuit.
  10. It won't melt if you have the upgrade headlight loom fitted.
  11. Wiring is one of those things you really don't want to look into but really should. How my car never caught fire before I owned it is a miracle! You can get a single loom that runs between the fuse box and the switch. Easy enough to replace if a little daunting!
  12. That's because the current for the lights runs from the battery, through the switch and then onto new lights, resulting in possible internal failures in the switch with age and dim lights. Get the headlight loom upgrade fitted. So much better! You had a mk2 headlight switch before incase you didn't know. That brown wire looks like it has melted away leaving bare wire remaining. Get it repaired or at the very least cover the wire in insulation tape, you run the risk of bad things happening if you leave that bare!

    Which tyres

The 215/35/16 on a rear tyre is my concern, I can almost accept the 195 on a 7.5 but 215 with such a small sidewall stretched over a 9 just reads as dangerous to me. Maybe you got lucky over the years on your planet. The sidewall of a tyre is designed to be as close to square as possible to take loads from the road and car correctly, put those sidewalls into a high degree angle and your asking for trouble. The tyre simply isn't designed to do that.

    Which tyres

I just put my opinion as well.... My thoughts were regarding the safety of the tyre and not how comfortable it was.
  15. You can check your details already, all you need to remember is your NI number, driving licence number and postcode. Easy to use if you can remember the details. I agree though that the advertisement of the change has been woeful.
  16. Will I ever stop finding it funny that the dog only farts next to the wife?
  17. I go away for a few hours and this thread has gained 3 pages!

    Which tyres

I'd trust Mr Lobitos with tyre decisions. He runs a tyre company and does very good rates for club members... I'd agree with his earlier statement too...
  19. Probably not, I don't venture out to meets too often.
  20. Typically, I got home and it opened first time! I think it's the twist in the gravel driveway that brings it back into alignment! No problem, glad you had a good day after journeying all the way from Yorkshire.
