  1. A nice sharp hacksaw and something to hold the hose in works for me.
  2. It's not rubber, it's a bonding lead that should connect the bonnet to the body. Most peoples are like yours and it doesn't really effect anything. I think it's designed to help the radio signal. New ones will break quickly so not worth replacing like for like. Get a proper cable and attach it to the body and bonnet if you are bothered. It's likely been like that for years.... I think this topic has come up twice in the last few weeks...
  3. I've been using foam tape, glue and felt wherever I find a creak or rattle. This can take some time! In other news, I've been having issues with how much the rear of the B12 kit has settled, currently it is 30mm lower at the rear then the front so I'm currently having 60mm or so drop at the back and it's becoming pretty harsh to drive from the rear. The front is quite soft still so it makes the handling a bit interesting! I've contacted Bilstein and Eibach directly but they are being quite slow in helping out but Zak (mk3highline) who organised the initial group buy has been really helpful in trying to find me a solution through his contacts so a big thumbs up again for Zak! Front centre wheel to arch distance is 330/335mm and the rear distance is 295/305mm so quite a difference. Looks nice, drives crap! A little googling shows that Eibach springs are a bit hit and miss when it comes to some Corrados. Either a quality issue or a car issue! I've had plenty of Eibach and Bilstein products over the years and this is the first time that I've had any issues at all so fingers crossed it is something that can be cured quickly and easily.
  4. Well it's that time of the year again. MOT passed with only a sticky fog light switch causing problems. Dismantled, cleaned, reassembled and all is good. A fraction under 8k done in a year. Slowly taking apart, lining with felt and rebuilding the car in an effort to eliminate all the squeaks. In other news, 12 years in the RAF has just about come to an end and I'm starting life in a civvi job next week so that will be a change of lifestyle!
  5. 312 calipers fit without needing adapters. Mic_VR has 305 AP brakes and they fit. (just!)
  6. 215/35/17 with a bit of stretch or 205/40/17 with lot of stretch. If I remember correctly mic_VR runs his with 215/40/17 which is technically too big but has a lot less stretch and makes the speedo read pretty much bang on instead of the usual 7-10% under. Lovely wheels, kind of wish I still had mine. I ran mine on standard arches but I was a lot higher and they could really do with wider arches if you want to run lower or they will catch. They're big wheels.
  7. Plenty of them, some well priced, others not so!
  8. If that is what I think it is, you can get original parts here. But it depends on how rich you're feeling and if you need it now or not.
  9. If you don't like Panjo, try eBay?
  10. Do you take your camera to the toilet Wayne?
  11. I went to my local Auto factors for my plates Mic, They were a lot cheaper than Halfords and still seem perfect a year on. EU Linco. Not sure if they are around you or not?
  12. Will looks the danglies afterwards Mic!
  13. That 02M box is pretty nails compared to the standard box but you're right Zak,it weighs a ton! The drive shafts are different lengths though?
  14. I'm sure you would have been able to put it across in a much more polite way than I managed to Jim!
  15. Every time this subject comes up on any forum there are always discussions about the legality of these and it always seems to be that metal plates aren't legal. Plenty of people run them though and it's down to the mood of whoever pulls you over as to whether they will do anything about it. If they were legal, Halfords would sell them over the counter as they do like to find a way to separate a driver from their cash :-) There are always mot testers who ignore it though. Same with adapters for wheels. Not mot legal but who actually knows anyone who has had an MOT refused because of it.
  16. Late mk3 gti, mk4 gti's, mk4 pd130 and up, Skoda fabia vrs, octavia vrs, mk1 tt, audi s3 are only some of the cars which used the 288 caliper and carrier. They are all the same. VW parts bin for you!
  17. Without wanting to sound like an a rse, if you struggle to drive with 320 bhp, why go for 400? Is it merely for bragging rights or do you want to go faster? If it's for bragging rights then fair enough but if you want to go faster, get a professional instructor to guide you through the process before you spend a lot of money just so that you can trash your running gear quicker.
  18. There are a lot of hoses when you break them all down! Thanks Jim.
  19. You'll have to organise a RR Jim as an excuse to get lots of people together!
  20. How much taller is it than a 3.2?
  21. I liked the red but ultimately once it's all fitted in the car, you can't really see the block anyway.
  22. Weren't there issues with spoonfed in the past? If I recall correctly the owner was basically a bit racist towards one of the guys on here when he complained about the quality of a product he'd received. They did make some cool things though. I liked the reverse lit dash clocks.
  23. If it were the alarm wire, I'd say it's going to the boot light. Aftermarket alarms normally use an internal light as a trigger that a door is open.
