  1. All the best Sean, i'm sure the time will fly by :)
  2. Thanks Jim, Wouldn't bother with the concours this time Chris as engine bay and underside aren't nearly good enough, maybe next year :D
  3. With the long weekend & decent weather things are coming along nicely. Interior re-fitted now, removed front seats to clean & vac interior properly, cleaned and treated the leather. Apart from the exterior side trims (need to find something decent to fix them on with) and brake discs and pads, it's just waxing and detailing now before Stanford Hall. Found a minor niggle with the radio, not working from osf & osr speakers. Hoping it's just faulty speakers but a bit annoying to find the problem now it's back together :( Started waxing this eve until it was too dark !
  4. Welcome to the club, :thumb right:
  5. I just watched it, yes a bit brief but a good summary all the same 8)
  6. I seriously thought about having a black headlining on my old car, but didn't get round to it.... It will look really smart on yours 8)
  7. Try giving Vince at Stealth a call Ben, pretty sure he would have some or advise the best option.:)
  8. Excellent, I will be in need of some of these. Thankyou :)
  9. :thumb right: Any plans on coming down for any meets/shows this year ?
  10. Thanks James :) Do you have a new phone or internet device ? Your smilies look slightly 'different' ! :)
  11. I remember Flight Deck Rob, I think it looked a lot better on the TV ad than it actually was ! We bought my eldest his first proper Scalextric for Christmas but to my surprise he still prefers the Hot wheels, at least he lets me play with the Scalextric ! It certainly is great having boys Sean, though it would have been nice for my wife to have a girl. Not planning for any more though !
  12. Yes, I think so. After my last car, albeit lightly modded, just want to keep things more simple and appreciate it for what it is.
  13. Yes, I will be. Need to clean them up still. I'm hoping they will be ok as they were a b*tch to remove and may be a bit bent.
  14. Things are starting to take shape now and I'm getting a bit excited ! Most of the exterior bits & bobs are re-fitted, had the wheels refurbished this week and fitted them today, was a bit worried that they might not get the right shade of silver to match the centre caps but it's spot on :) I bought a new door aperture seal from VWH for the drivers door as mine one had a small split, and had a big bit of luck yesterday when I bumped into a chap I know locally who is really into his air cooled stuff. After chatting about his new 54' Beetle he asked me if I wanted a brand new door aperture seal for the C as he had one in his garage at home ! Would have bought 2 to begin with but as they are £80 odd quid new it was a bit steep so happy days & fitted them both today 8) Just need to get those roof trims ordered now  So onto re-fitting the interior next weekend and with it being Easter weekend should see it mostly done, or presentable anyway. thanks for reading Daren
  15. Hoop the loop tracks are great, not been pursuaded into getting the stick to the wall tracks, not good for the walls I imagine !
  16. We (family) were out this morning for a mooch around the shops and a coffee, and as often happens we were in a shop that sells Hot Wheels (which they love over most other types of toy car) and our 2 boys (5yrs & 8yrs) pursuaded us into buying them a car each, keeps them happy while we enjoy our coffee! Once home we decided to group the Hot Wheels together. Now this does not include all other multitudes of types of toy car they have (Matchbox, Disney Cars 1 & 2 etc. 141 cars !! at between £1.00 and £2.50 a time. Quite a collection ! I seem to remember having to make do with just a handful when I were a lad ! I did enjoy them though
  17. Looking forward to seeing your car again Michael, which shows are you planning to get to this year ?
  18. Not quite Jim, though pretty much everything apart from the roof & tailgate.
  19. Collected the C from the bodyshop today as the paintwork is finished. Have to say with first impressions they have done a superb job. The dent repair man got a great deal of the dings out so only a minimum amount of any filler was required. Mark (the paintshop owner)knew how fussy I was with my old car and as a result seems to have done a great job with this one, in fact I think the finish is probably even better. He said he had enjoyed doing it and seemed quite proud of the results. Can't wait to get stuck in to putting it back together, though I don't want to rush it. Got my CCGB clubstand pass for Stanford Hall and should be ok for that. Also want to get the wheels re-furbed & discs & pads replaced before then. Think a little time off work may be required as the weekends are never long enough ! thanks for reading :) Daren.
