If its obsolete, refurb (if only every part was so straightforward)

Yeh Corrados with cloth seats leave me for dead, they are so much quicker

Rob has just bought a set for his Silver VR but I think he is getting then retrimmed, you could buy the original grey covers off him and fit them to set of your own then colour isn't an issue and you could then resell on a set of covers. I sold mine on in this way.

Looking good (get the cover back on)

Sounds like a smart move and a real fun daily too.

The cost was £115 inc £10 delivery. I'm happy to go with a colour refurb on my totally stock wheel which is in very good condition but could do with a light refresh but as I wanted a subtle variation from stock on my alternative wheel a re trim was the only way to go. The feel, look and finish of the new leather however produces great results and gives your hands that new car feel

The recolour product I have gone for is the Gliptone Scuffmaster product as recommended by Karl KadVR after seeing his results and doing a little research. A baragain at c £15 delivered. Will report back on my results in due course.

Here's a link to Royal Steering wheels. I can certainly recommend Jack for a straightforward quality service.:thumbleft:

Its great to see you back in a Corrado. I certainly think your plan of attack and intentions are spot on. You've certainly got a really nice colour/trim combo and the steam clean has revealed what looks to be a pretty straight and solid shell.

don't use hammerite, there are a number of threads including Yans build thread iirc etc for effective rust treatment

Thanks guys, quite pleased with it, adds a nice twist to the OE wheel and makes it a little more appealing especially as it is a 2 minute job to swap between this and the original steering wheel. Nice to be able to swap little bits around

Mine arrived safely today, thankyou:thumbleft:

Was that from the guy in Germany Gareth??No the German supplier uses red or grey sticthing and has plain top and bottom and perforated across the centre. I specified this as a more subtle interpretation, it was done in the UK by Jack at Royal Steering wheels

Just got my freshly retrimmed steering wheel in the post today. Perforated top and bottom sections, the rest in Nappa leather and black stitching. Subtle difference but a nice touch.
