  1. These prices you are mentioning sound an absolute bargain. The wheels are 17x7.5 BBS RS 301 5 stud fitment for the VR6. I know of 2 sets for sale at the moment but they both want £1500. Which is the more usual price. I couldn't find them on E- Bay. If anyone can find me a spare set so cheap i'll gladly pay a finders fee.

  2. Has anyone fitted the 'chrome' interior door release pulls to their Corrado.

I believe they are the ones fitted to the face lift Golf Cabrio MK3/4?

Are they a direct swap? is it straightforward? any ideas on price or part numbers. Pics would be cool, Thanks.

  3. For me its simple, i'm a VW enthusiast through and through.I have owned many different VWs but must confess a passion for GTIs and have owned MK1s and MK2s from 8v to G60. I have always appreciated the Corrado for its styling, handling and performance, build quality and refinement. :D

How about you. Are you VW enthustasts, or into sports coupes. Or some other reason..

  4. Cool i've even found a pic of the cab on this very site

I haven't got any pics of the Corrado on the net but have posted one on the forum under the title Satin Silver VR6

The wheels were colour coded BBS RM splits with anodised outers and also silver and polished RS splits.

  5. Thanks for the comments, the car is absolutely stock on the pic. apparently the supplying main dealer colour coded the grille. It was the first Silver VR6 with black leather that i'd seen. I had been looking at the dark metallics but couldn't resist this ! :D

Whilst something of a purist at heart I can't leave things alone, I always seem to think I know better than the manufacturers saw fit to supply them as standard. :?

  6. After many years of VW ownership I have finally found myself a VR6 Corrado. Heres a quick pic complete with dealer plates, stickers and mudflaps. :D

Registered by the supplying Volkswagen main dealer Sidlow Garages, Felbridge, West Sussex in April 1994, the car was supplied to its first private keeper Michael Murgatroyd in July 1994.

Murgatroyd an orthodontist and car enthusiast had been searching specifically for a Corrado VR6 in Satin Silver metallic with the optional black heated leather trim for some time and travelled from his home in Cheshire to view and buy the Corrado.

Murgatroyd cherished the Corrado, maintaining the Volkswagen service history until 2003 when, after 9 years of ownership he finally accepted that Volkswagen were unlikely to launch a replacement sports coupe. Following his retirement Michael reluctantly decided to sell the Corrado.

  7. Aplogies in advance as I know there has been much talk on the subject, however I would like clarification on a couple of points.

Firstly is there consensus that the rear passat handles will fit without modification if you also use the lock mechanism from the passat ?

Where the passat mechanisms ever available without the child locks ? if not is this feature easily removed ?

Is it worth buying these parts new, if so which suppliers offer the best prices or is it VAG dealers only? Prices ?

Lastly I belive that the electric window closure and central locking are wired into the original locks. Does this need to be modified, what needs to be done to ensure the systems still function and the doors lock remotely ?
