  1. Ok chaps. Thanks for the advice. The wheels are such a bargain I gotta have 'em.

I'll get 215's fitted and take it from there.

Less potential problems with 205/40 (and better rolling radius) also you may need to shave a little from your front callipers to fit these rims

  2. Hi Shaun, i'm sure you have mixed feelings but its nice to go out on top :salute: Whats the story with the new owner, plans etc is he a VW enthusiast or performance car enthusiast.

I hope you still come on here and keep us updated when you get your new ride 8)

  3. Well my back seats are back now and fitted, if you have been following the thread you will have seen the work on my front Recaros which have been retrimmed to a very high standard and are beyond factory fresh. My rear seats were immaculate, the best i'd seen (due to lack of use) but the leather upholstery in Corrados was never tight enough from the outset infact I have heard comments about the centres being ruffled/pleated such is the sagging that occurs on the stock trim, so the rears have now been done and are now tight as a drum and looking great, I can't take a good picture to save my life but I have posted one to give you an idea.

Once fitted it was time to take a couple of pics for my insurance, the exterior is dirty and dusty at the moment but I thought i'd pop up an engine bay and interior shot. Interior is stock OE except for the period BBS 3 spoke steering wheel and engine bay is pretty much too apart from a couple if minor non cosmetic upgradres such as leads and gruven parts radiator neck. For me I think it shows a clean well spec'd car can look great with its period charm intact

  4. 15s run 205/50 so on a 16 i'd expect 205/45 or lower still, speedo will be out

  5. mate - your car is spot on. And like vaghag, it's pretty much how I want mine to end up like. I know you mentioned the new ride height as being from centre of wheel arch to ground (i think), but would you know what the drop was in mm's?

    Was it 40mm?

    Thanks

Hi - found some scribbled notes I made at the time:

Was 630mm at the front and 670mm at the back

Aim was to get to 585mm at the front and 600mm at the rear

So a 45mm drop at the front and 70mm at the back

All this was based on Goldies old Storm cos I thought the stance was bang on.

Is 585 and 600 where your ride height finished up? Any side on pics please 8)

  6. In fairness its not a monstrousity by any means, its pretty conservative other than the colour change, which will of course divide opinion. Its not for me but theres far tackier cars on here

  7. You've really struck lucky with this car by the looks of it, looks very clean 8) Looking forward to seeing it, be careful driving it at the moment with the Volcano dust in the atmosphere its very dangerous for aircraft and your car is currently much higher than most aircraft ever reach

Easily remedied :thumb right: Its such a shame the stock ride height on Corrados isn't more befitting a sports coupe
