  1. Remember watching it being built with great interest at the time. Was a very succesful project but I think the guy who commisioned it sold it on before getting the real benefit but had spent so much he didn't finish the last touches. At the time I wasn't wild about the fuel tank in the boot or the change to 4 stud but other than that it was very sorted, I think heat soak and cooling was the only thing holding it back at the time. I imagine it has been refined and further developed since.

  2. The car is stunning on the CHs they look soooo good on a dark Corrado and i'm truly amazed how well they fit for an 8.5" width rim. I think the car would look great on RS 301s as they can make any Corrado look good, but yours is one car that can do without. Those CHs will accomodate some great brakes and whats more with the CH you get to show them off, CH, big stoppers, 6 speed 400 bhp VRT, its a winning formula

  3. 195/40 is often run on an 8" rim and I haven't heard any problems reported, it may provide just enough stretch to get the tyre into the arch. Personally I wouldn't drop below 205 which after all is the stanard tyre width on a VR with its factory 6.5" rims. I would (and do) run a 7.5" wheel up front with a 205/40 tyre

  4. Please don't think my post was negative the car is absolutely stunning and all the fresher too with all those subtle touches and removing the grille spoiler and going for a black grill, its just that it would be perfect in my eyes with the badged grille. As you say its easily reversable and you've got to try these things out

  5. Nice one :) 205 40 17 to maintain the same rolling radius.

Think you'll need to drop the suspension though or they just won't look right at all IMHO.

Absolutely agree, however RS 301s are 7.5j wide, ET 33. If yours are 8j they will have had 1" dishes fitted resuling in an ET of 27. This is quite wide for the front of the car, and if you were to run them maybe a more stretched 195 would be better but i'd persnally consider a half inch dish.

  6. i think if you were to run 255's you would loose some steering and it would tramline like a bugger

but that said in the dry it would be hard to loose the arse end !! :D

It wouldn't even move it would foul on the arches and suspension, great immobiliser

  7. Corrado owners are very fortunate as both the stock seats and Recaros are very good so in terms of function. Looks wise a black interior featuring black leather Recaros is the perfect period high end interior for a Corrado,, of course

  8. Corrados came with certain level of spec and a range of factory fitted options, what was being said is that Storm spec is either mystic blue with black leather or classic green with beige leather (250 of each) Other unique feature of a storm are colour coded grille, 15" BBS solitudes and Storm badges on the rear and centre console thats it. Other factory supplied VR6s may have been ordered with a wider range of factory options eg colour choice, Recaros, headlamp washers etc. Aircon was a dealer fit only option.

  9. They better bloody go up as I bought mine just before the "crash" Not that Im looking to sell it mind you but I am debating whether to go all out and make it a track day machine or get it looks spick and span again.

thats a hard one, i like to have best of both worlds if im honest... i like mine looking brand spanking new, but you also got to be able to put ya foot down and not worry about it too much

I'm more concerned with go than show, and my bodywork looks like it!

Yup lots of new young blood  Hey if you can buy a Rado for 800 squid then you can afford to insure it as well!

Prices are rock bottom which means a C is now available to the masses, but its still insurance and servicing that will kick them in the butt. Yeah you can get a Fiesta for that price, but it won't be a 1.8 or 2.0 and will be a heck of a lot cheaper to run.[/quote:2jjizr7u]

And its those costs which mean budget owners are less likely to invest to keep the cars in tip top condition and with each new owner the price reduces and the 'restoration' price and jobs to do list raises, making breaking considerably more likely and financially inevitable.

  10. Can't be me dreaming, there really is a lot of Corrado related activity recently. In addition to the diehards and longterm keepers there seems to be a lot a new guys buying or looking to buy a Corrado or equally common place cars being broken.

New owners due to low prices at the moment ? Maybe although i'd guess those breaking rather than selling are often making more money. When all this activity dies down I think we'll be left with far fewer quality cars in dedicated ownership and we'll see the prices start to rise and cult classic staus will be assured LOL

  11. Sadly mine is an SE not a Sport but pulls well and is a soild car, can't get too excited with the non Sport model but its a good car (your wheels would suit it) :norty: . I thought Dave didn't like BMWs lol mind you they sound like quality cars. What Corrado has he got?
