  1. Ideally remove tyre, strip the lacquer, progressively finer grades of paper, polishing mops and compound, done. Alternatively remove tyre, strip lacquer hand to local polisher quick and easy. Don't forget the carbon centre caps 8) Should be looking good for next weekend, centres look great :salute:

  2. Looks a very well thought out and executed car. The extended arches retaining factory lines is very unusual but certainly the way to go when extending them, do they finish lower that stock making the car sit lower over the tyres? Would like to see it with the stock grille set up.

    Very nice car 8)

  3. LOL Just can't resist temptation can we. RH ZW1s always look good on a Corrado and the 17s will be a lot less trouble to live with than the 16" Weds, nice to change the look of a car with a quick wheel swap so I vote keep them but must agree 9s fill your lared arches well so I wouldn,t bother resizing.

Think the car would really suit the side mouldings and if the plate could be reintegrated into the stock location too, how about painting the mesh to leave it displaying the reg like Riley did or a stand off plate like OZ on his VRT.

  4. Andy the Corrado's spot on, they are quick and handle very well for their age but their appeal is more than any measure of pefrormance. The Corrado still performs favourably with any VW made new or old and regularly features in polls and is already a modern classic. If you've been spoilt by the MK2 which is running twice its factory power fair enough but as you know there is a price to pay for running a highly modified or engine converted car.

If speed is now what matters to you other than keeping the MK2 you won't find love in a VW unless you are prepared to spend the time and money developing a car which you aren't. Perhaps you need to consider going Jap if the loves not there?

  5. Its all cool, no offence taken, I tend to agree on the brakes (mine are black) I don't suppose if they weren't a standard color I would have deviated from black but funnily enough red and even blue ignition leads seem to add a bit of character to the engine bay. Rest assured everything else will stay factory OEM appearance under the bonnet not a big fan of bling.

  6. Cheers guys, the Maxpower comment really hurt :(

Acquired new platics trims/guides for the plug leads and have got the 7mm HT leads seated far better now, the little retaining lugs were trimmed back to allow them to sit nicely in the channel.

  7. lovely, has to be one of the best on the forum :notworthy:

only thing i dislike is the red ht leads, they look like something from from a 17yrs old maxpower hatchback :( sorry

Are they the original red beru leads though?

These are uprated but the stock leads for the year were red I understand so just trying to keep it stock looking

  8. I'm pretty certain you will, read A20LEE's thread he had them fitted years ago before his ZW1s, it was only a tiny amount but they wouldn't clear without a little massage of the outer edge of the calliper (qick whizz over with the grinder, sand back tidy, reapply paint, done) So little needs doing its better than going for a spacer especially with 8x17 ET32 to start with.

  9. Hi Shaun, i'm sure you have mixed feelings but its nice to go out on top :salute: Whats the story with the new owner, plans etc is he a VW enthusiast or performance car enthusiast.

me thinks he is already on the forum!!!
