ok m8. i have to dig out the instructions from when i fitted my previous one but i will certainly take staged pics for you as i go :)
-
ok m8, for you i can do that :) lol which type of loom do you have? is it a ryan automotive one? if it is i believe they have OEM connectors so the light end is easy but from reading another users post about headlight issues the ryan looms require disabling the dim-dip, my KUR2Y loom doesn't need that did you get a set of fitting instructions? oh & what bulbs did you go with?
-
tidy! received my new uprated loom, 3 relay version, from KUR2Y for the valver (thanks Zak!!!!) just need to get some ring xenon max bulbs & fit it all this weekend :)

Hi Mat Could I take these off your hands pls? I am assuming they both work ok? thanks muchly -
ok that is a good sign - matrix is ok then :) have you re-checked the thermo fuse connections since you put the new blower motor in? could be the thermo fuse itself, the main fuse on the fuse board or possibly a break in the wiring going from heater speed dial to blower motor
-
not sure - I think you may have to drop the beam slightly to get access I believe they can be a b1tch to get out though
-
does your heater blower fan work at all? even with a non working blower motor you should still be getting warm air when the heater dial is set to warm - unless your matrix has gone & then you will only get cold air even if dial set to warm if you have no response out of the blower motor it could be a blown fuse maybe - fuse board is under the drivers side footwell shelf did the seller mention anything about hot air feed?

no problem - sorry it has taken a while to see the above ok then, yes the ryan versions are indeed 2 relay. I have never seen one but maybe this would explain the 'rather faint' passenger light output but zero drivers side output - as perhaps the current can flow through but is reduced (im guessing at the last bit lol) easy way to tell if it is the loom Kev - your ryan one should have OEM plugs so a quick disconnect & then reconnect the factory ones to reinstate the factory loom & then test the lights my bet is they will work, so, that done I would check the 2 fuses in the uprated loom first (though if either of those blew I would expect you to have no output in some form as the current would not be able to get past said fuse) & then change the 2 relays you should be able to figure out which relay does high beam & which does normal but I would recommend changing them both & then testing. that way you can have a spare working relay to keep in the glove box in case it happens again - which is what I do in case it happens at night as even just one normal beam light is insufficient I have seen quite afew posts about ryan looms failing & they are always down to the relays EDIT: I should probably mention that I don't have a ryan loom, I have one made by the users KUR2Y on here :) -

Hi Kev I would say it is an issue with a failed relay on the uprated loom do you have a 2 or 3 relay uprated loom? sounds like a 3 relay one to me as with the 2 relay version would leave you with zero low beam this is due to the 3 relay version having one relay for each side of low beam & then 1 for high beam on both sides - rather than the 2 relay only having 1 relay for both headlights low beam the relays are only a few £'s from a motor factors - easiest is to drive the car there & take a relay out for them to match I know the above because I have had it happen to me. I changed all 3 relays as I wasn't sure which was which & couldn't be bothered to swap them around a few times hope that helps -
we all know that will happen sooner or later...hopefully ;) lol
