  5. Options are indeed limited. I have researched for quite a few hours & it really narrows down to either: powerflow - I used BMC in the midlands many moons ago to fit a manifold back full stainless system on my valver a long time ago & it still looks fantastic now ive brought that car back again BUT the guarantee is limited & you have to / are meant to take it back to them each year to get checked longlife - from what ive read on their site & in terms of reviews & the fact they provide the only lifetime guarantee ive seen which is transferable between owners & thus a true lifetime guarantee for the exhaust itself. this is currently my most favourable option having spoken with the owner of the dealership but i have never seen or heard one in real life custom made - turbo thomas in redditch for example makes superb quality custom solutions but wow it would be expensive. I did also see the custom exhaust vince at stealth fabricated & fitted to n3p's VRT & it looked very neat & tidy. i think n3p is happy with it too

  8. That was my thought exactly as i hadnt realised it was the dash side on which the fixing was broken lol your efforts were still appreciated though Jim as without you we wouldnt have anything to try to cover the gap. one way or another i will get it to fit :)

  10. Oh balls!!! Well that excitement didnt last long :( Just went out to fit the RHS one & take a pic to post only to find that the place in the surround on my dash clocks where it fits is broken & is missing the area the binnacle clips in to. New clock plastics required methinks & fingers crossed my valver or the gf's storm aren't the same
  11. Morning Jim Mr Postman has just delivered a package with 3 lovely looking sets of covers :D I cant thank you enough for making this happen & will post a pic once ive fitted them......yay no more looking at an unsightly screw head on my dash('s) Very much appreciated
  12. as easypops mentions first port of call is checking your ignition leads are connected at both end, check coilpack for any cracks or sign of wear & possibly vagcom it to rule out if the cam sensor is reporting any codes my gf's storm showed similar signs & actions & it turned out to be an intermittent coilpack & dodgy cam sensor

  14. IIRC the bentley manual has an exploded diagram showing all the mechanism of the sun roof - not sure if you can find it online though
  15. you could try plugging it into vagcom if you havent already & check for error codes

  17. refreshing all your running gear will make a great difference it would be a personal preference or 'is there room' regarding if you strip it & put on stands & also regarding whether you reuse some items or get new/refub (eg wishbones themselves) forgive the haphazard listing, im just going top to bottom on my notes about whats done on my VR to date... tie rod ends cv joints & cv boots steering rack & gaitors drop links suspension top mounts & bearings (front & rear) front wishbone bushes (IIRC some use R32 versions for these, i have OEM & they give a nice cushioned feel to my KW V1's) rear beam bushes (again IIRC it is important to use OEM for the beam due to the nature of how it is designed & polybushes have a detrimental effect) brake compensator can be a real pain when changing rear beam bushes & i needed a new one due to butchering it out your idea of collating all parts prior to fitting would give the benefit of you being able to have items like front wishbones & rear beams stripped & powder coated so they look all new (if 2nd hand of course) hope that helps as a starter but its well worth speaking to members here who have stunning undersides to their cars

  19. EJ - you could PM n3p as well ;) IIRC he had an LSD fitted when his turbo was done at stealth (his VR was there at the same time as mine) & he is a nice helpful fella :)

  21. thats a great price Mr L! i will defitely be asking you for a quote when my current 1's need replacing. Does anyone know an average kind of cost for a local tire fitter to fit & balance only?
  22. ahhh thats made my morning thanks Jim & EJ! love it when everyone here has a fun chip in on a wayward thread lol im non SC but run fuchs titan 10w40, after vince recommended i move away from the fuchs 5w40 i had been historically using as it is too thin
