cheers guys my car is on 175k with original bushes etc but with new-ish (4yr old) suspension, koni & HR, so 300 for arb`s assuming i need to do front and back at the same time + fitting is there any make that are prefered? H&R, eibach, KW, neuspeed? any pros and/or cons to them? whats the score with fitting easy or tough 1-10?, is it on the drive job or on a ramp ( have access to ramp for some £) or just go to awesome etc and get them to do it for me? thanks again ben

cool just the type of info i need, so rear brace first them 22mm front, 25mm back? whats the standard front? 18mm?

edited the title to encourage more input for braces and arb`s, so any experience please post! ta ben i`m thinking about my back end!!! i`m wondering which would be the best to tighten up the back end, i`ve been looking at trimsport braces and various rear 25mm arb`s, i feel my car suffers from some understeer which i think both would help to an extent. my questions is which to go for first? the trimsport brace is easy to fit but would it make any difference? the arb is god but would it be too much? i dont want over steer! any one with any experience of both would be great! cheeers ben

it was a looked after car, just had Hg, water pump, battery, tyres, ...... etc done in last 2 yrs only on 124k with SH ive known it for 5 or more but engine + no oil + driving = fooobard!!!

nah nothing too far over the edge a camel is better looking i`m gonna take apart the top end soon and see what it looks like inside

forked oh well its gonna be broke then!! i`ll look forward to stripping it down anyways just to learn about my engine, strange thing is the owner was driving it until last week! no i have a standard G60 in inca with standard BBS which i`m looking after for a mate my aqua 1.8 16v which (touch wood is ok) and the new 1.8 16v in inca which is knackered they are all J plate tho also have a mk3 golf thats the missus` and until last week had a refurbed camper on there too haha the neighbours must think im mad, lucky i got a big drive hmm what could i make outta these lol

ive just aquired a 1.8 16v that i reckon i`ll have to break aswell, i did a crashed one 4years ago and made about 1200 but sold the shell etc still running so lots more couldve gone such a shame to break a running on though adz swap cars and break mine and i`ll drive yours lol

well i`ve got it home taken the plugs out and no 3 away from the cam belt is flattened - what will have caused this? tried to turn the crank and its solid have a look i`ll prob be breaking it but as its exactly the same as mine - only other early one ive seen with 2 LCd displays - i`ll have to keep a lot of parts i will make a post once i start the dismantling ben

cheers, like i said the car was driven there and ive seen it driving 2 weeks ago (horrible sight) I did put some oil in but im assuming it will just fall to the pump and not go anywhere useful

should add i only really want it for a spare car not to get running again, just thought itd be easier to drive away if possible as its in a bit of an awkward place to tow

hey all, ive just found a rado 1.8 16v the same as mine i can have but i fear the engine has seized, the car was driven to its resting place 2 weeks ago smoking like hell, and it has no oil in it, hence why i think it has seized. however it is only up the road from me so am still going to collect it! im not a total numpty but could do with some advice! will jump starting it ie rolling down hill and letting the clutch go, force the pistons free or destroy the drivetrain! how do you turn an engine over by hand to check? which bolt do you turn? any thing else anyone can think of? or do i just tow it? I`m gonna try again tomorrow as i ran out of light tonight so any suggestions thanks in advance ben

probably the oil cooler has gone allowing oil to mix with the water if the header tank is full of mayo

also thought that to, but the disarming tells you if an alarm has been activated! as i t does this all the time! i dunno its been fine for the last 7years so i cant reallly complain lol

hi guys my toad recently started to beep and flash 5 times upon arming, i assumed this was a door open etc, but according to the manual that should have 3 beeps, i`ve done a quick google and it appears a couple of people have had this but the threads go nowhere so dont have an answer. just wonderered if any one here had seen/heard of this and knew what it was, the alarm itself seems to be operating correctly apart from this!?!? many thanks ben
