  1. hey hey, I have some fox alloys that im currently re-conditioning Here they are (sorry about the picture quality) 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfSurvey 173.jpg[/attachment:3qfzvxax] I wont to change the Centre cover of each wheel to say something other than Fox racing :gag: !!! here is what i want to do... Wheel cover.pdf[/attachment:3qfzvxax] does any 1 have any ideas on the best way to go about this?? I dont wont to spray it on as the plastic that the current sticker is attached too because it isn't smooth, id have to sand it and other nonsense. i was thinking of trying to spray a stencil of the image onto a plastic disc then gluing it in ?
  2. dunno about the whole shell but side panals etc are about 40notes each ish... how many make up the car?
  3. wow, just scrap it mate not worth the effort. I do however know of a lovely little G60 in need of some spares! Nah mate, only joshin. It looks like this was a well timed occurrence. Do you know if they're going to steam clean the block and engine bay for you? Would be worth doing while it's all in pieces
  4. Lol your worried about the ride height! you obviously not seen mine! Looks like a JCB
  5. I would have given up if the head had gone! but if your garage thinks the engine is sound and that the problem is minor then crack on buddy. There are far to few of these glorious cars on the rd without having another one dying on us. Stick at it and let us know how you get on. Ohh and POST SOME PICTURES! We love to see the competition!
  6. It can't look The_dude... he's wearing a turban!
  7. hmm good question... I own a G60 so im not to hot on these particular engines. Is it the 2litre? or the 1.8? I think that you should be looking for anything below 7.5bar as being bad... I'll have a look in my bently manual to see what that says on the subject. That thing with the crystals basically measures CO and CO2 emissions (exhaust fumes) like i said in a previous post but more high tech! Have you tried searching for the subject in the top right hand search bar? Maybe you'll find your crazy "something exchange" and recommended compression test figures
  8. Do you have a workshop or some where to skim the head after you've removed it then? you can get new head bolts and gaskets from VW, I wouldn't mess about with cheep replacements. just give your local dealer a bell with your chassis number handy. But really mate... removing the head is no small task. And once you've skimmed the head then you can't re-skim it. It's a slippery slope of mayhem... you'll never have a good seal ever again either, no matter how much effort you put in to get a good seal the head will never sit right again. High oil consumption and minor leaking will become a common occurrence... You Know what... How much did you spend? Id be tempted to fix the water leak and re-sell for another one. There is a few in the for sale thread that might temp you. If not then just be careful you diagnose your gasket problem. Last thing you wont to do it get the head off to find you didn't need too! good luck with your pal tonight! Oh, and welcome to corrado ownership!!!!
  9. hey hey dude, chill out Dude. Just cus that dude didn't grasp that The_Dude was a dude as well at that other dude, there's no need to get all emotional..... Dude
  10. lol... just like that!!! you've had the car how long? Give the water tank a sniff, does it smell of exhaust fumes? TBH dude.. .had you not just give the previous owner a phone. A new head gasket isn't exactly cheep and you've only had the car 2 days! :confused4:
  11. that gives you plenty of time to drive up for Sat night. Ill see you around 9ish mate
  12. if your sure thats where the waters coming from then id agree with you. Id spend a day checking the hoses going too and from the header tank and if you have the time, maybe drain the water out and remove the tank itself. If there is a leak then the water coming out will be at or near boiling point when the cars hot. Dry up the area under the tank and get some paper. when the car is cold turn her on and place the paper in various places you expect it to leak, help you locate your culprit.
  13. I'm sat at work reading mine just now :D
  14. was the steam drifting up and out the vents by itself or did you have the heater fan turned on? how much water did you have in the tank? Sounds to me like you have sprung a leak somewhere... did you take the car up to temp when you bought her?? let the fan turn on ect... 102 degrees is hot enough to give you steam if you have a dodgy heater matrix, radiator or water hose... Was it a private sale?
  15. there's a handle on the left hand side of the steering colum.... you just pull it down and then you can twist the steering coulumb up and down. I think the top cowling comes loose when you remove the lower one. however! when i did it my steering cover cowling was all broken so im not actualy to sure! That was to fix the MFA switch as well... Although i have got a new ignition switch for the car... I'm not looking forward to fitting it now :pale:
  16. theres a nice picture of your badge at the moment...
  17. i spent 7hrs once... but thats only because i spent 2 hours looking for an extension cord for the hoover and then a further hour or so re-washing the car when i spilt my polish on the hood and bonnet :brickwall:
  18. yeah i know... they where liquorish twists but she didn't have enough liquorish for 4 wheels so she shrank them down to make up the fourth!
  19. wow, they even sprayed the petrol filler cap! very smart  I like my black rado but I LOVE bright colours on cars. Very fresh
  20. nah... every chavs dream them... what are they? 28's?
  21. can you skim heads and stuff then? thats good to know! :norty: shame you couldn't make it, although I think after looking through the replays that we might do it again... alot of minor bumping makes the cars look quite gash. Also i think Yan was interested in making an appearance but know one knows when he's getting bk to the real world! I wonted to get my number plate on the car as well!
