  1. hey I was wondering if anyone has taken advantage of the current Dollar to Pound exchange rate. It is currently very good for us in the UK. I was looking at the Bahn Brenner site (currently dreaming of 16v g60) and you can pick the integration kit up for $1,299.00 which is only 710.289 GBP. That to me is a good deal. The screw compressor is still on the pricy side but still is well under £1500 The reason I have mentioned this to you all is that my mate is making a killing on ebay with various bargains he has picked up stateside. Just a thought for you G60 owners Laters all Matt Buz

  3. hey all Just a tester. I have a beat up mk 2 golf gti. the body work and interior is shabby but the engine is mint as its had a full engine recon (which cost me an arm and a leg) less then 2000 miles ago and goes like stink. I am going to try and flog it (the car) but I was wondering if the engine would be of anyuse to anyone on here. Is the 8v mk 2 golf engine the same spec as the g60 or am I way off the mark. Its affectionately known as the beast and goes like poo off a pole.I will miss the old girl. Later all Matt Buz
  4. very interested in how this works out
  5. First saw the C on top gear years ago and was mesmerised by the whole "and the spoiler raises up at 70 but it is being changed to 50 when it is realised in england......" and so on. I have always wanted one since. I test drove a couple of dogs and, not knowing much about cars, I forked out a bit of cash on AA tests on them. Thankfully the 3rd!!!! C I had an AA test on turned up trumps. I rung up and negotiated a price. Jumped on a train down to london. (thats right i bought it without seeing it  ) Then sped all the way back to leeds grinning all the way. It drives like a dream and I cant wait to refurb the wheels and get the new rubber on it this summer.
  6. heres me (the bloke on the right) with some hooters girls in the states last year :D . And thats as near as I got
  7. hey all Got some 15 inch estorils on my c and was going to order some tyres from performance alloys online. http://www.performancealloys.com/home.asp What size tyes do i need because if i go through the "choose tyres by car" link on the site its different to what i thought was written on the tyres currently on my car. I am a bit of an amateur at this so forgive me. Incidently I am off for some bridgestones and I am going to get my alloys polished. I saw a slammed golf with polished estorils on and i thought they looked awesome. Cheers all Matt BUz
  8. I went on the bungee rocket in Ibiza a few years a go and you go from 0-100mph in just over a second and you pull anything from 5-6 or 7 G (weight pending). I had a headache for about 6 hours afterwards and it put me off possible future space travel for good.

    squeaky spoiler

hey all My spoiler has started to make a couple of squeaky noises on the way down. They occur just before it reaches the fully down position. I was going to try and lube it a bit but I thought I should ask here first. Is it a sign it's on its way out or can i nip the problem in the bud early? Cheers Matt Buz
  11. Hey, I also used to own a Mk 2 golf Gti which had kent cams and a few more bits and bobs in it to make it quicker. I gave it to my mate when I got my standard 2.0l 16v corrado and (as one does) we went out on the roads to see the difference. It was/is neck and neck up until, like "munkay " says, 50 then the c pulls well clear. The G60 is quicker then the 2.0l 16v so brush your teeth and prepare to grin.............. :D alot.......................
  12. Is it worth it? I know alot of people on the forum will say get a VR6 or a G60 but my car is in great knick and has no major problems on it. I really dont want to get another car and possibly inherit its problems. I would rather work with what I have got and maybe have something a bit different from every one else. My car has currently got 75000 on the clock and runs very strong. I would just like a bit more ooommph off the line (this is where my car really does struggle) and was thinking down the lines of a turbo. What sort of price am I looking at and who would do it? This is all speculative at the moment and I am not well verse in the engine world so if one does reply please keep it simple for me. I had a search for posts on here but you type in the word "turbo" and a gazillion threads come up. Any help is good Ta all.
  13. thats evil..................but funny :D
  14. Sounds like a good deal to me! If I had the use of that I wouldn't want the Corrado back! :D 8)
  15. it certainly is a fine automobile. The v8 sounds truely awesome. I am praying for hot days from the start of july as its a tad frisky when its moist!
  16. It also has drum brakes so stopping isnt exactly a strong point as well!
  17. :) maybe so, but its just a shame i cant bleedin remember :(
  18. Last friday, after work, I went for a pint at my local which led to me being out till the death and thus waking up with the mother of all hangovers on the saturday morning. After I woke I was stumbling round the house thinking that I had done something that I really shouldnt have. I couldnt for the life of me remember what it was. Then it dawned on me. I ran to the window and looked out............dude! WHERES MY CAR!!! Then I started to piece the night together. Rather stupidly I had let my mate borrow my car to go to london (from leeds) for the weekend. I rung him up to get it back and had a go at him for taking advantage of my drunken state. He had no sympathy for me and promptly rung me every 10 mins to let me know how fast he was going down the M1!!!! It came back on the sunday and it was exactly as i left it apart from one thing. My mate is not the slimest of lads and now the drivers seat squeaks over bad roads. I have informed him that if he is to borrow my car he is to lose a few pounds......and ask me when I am sober! One good thing has come from this though. I get use of his 1966 cherry red ford mustang convertible for 7 weeks, when he goes on his jols, this summer!!!!!! (apparently this was part of the deal for him to borrow my car...........not that i can remember this) Laters all Matt ps Stang pics attached
  19. hey all the heater direction control has just failed me on my c. Its the directional dial on the left. I turned it and it got really stiff. I thought "uh oh" and turned it back at which point it went "clik" and wont budge now. Thankfully its stuck on the windscreen setting which is the one I use 90pc of the time. Has anyone got any experience of this problem. If so is it fixable (it sounded like a clik that had broken for good incidently). This is for sale on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1 and i am tempted to buy it. Thoughts please. Thanks Matt Buz
  20. i went to that place last year The cars in it are awesome. Fell in love with the James Bond Aston as soon as I clapped eyes on it but the thing that stirred me most was K.I.T.!!! I real throw back to my younger days of running around shouting into my casio watch "yah KIT meet me round back in 2 minutes"
