  1. Bought my 2.0l 16v for 4090 It has 73 on the clock, FSH, Full electric pack & full leather interior. I reckon I spent a bit over the odds for it as there where a couple of things that neeeded doing to the tune of 200 quid. Would personally save a bit more and get one with leather and full electrics and I only think that will be 300-500 quid more. Also I dont know what everyone else thinks but it was 7 months before I bought mine. Got some buying tips off VWCCGB website if you want me to forward them to you? Hope that helps Or you could just say "f**k it" and buy it  Later Buz
  2. I think my postcode does not help at all as it went up a fair bit when i moved a mile down the road. Am going to check out some more this week when I get chance but the fact that my insurance is quite high means that I am in two minds about modding it. mmmmmmmmmmmmm purple
  3. awesome great wheel choice. Always liked em and red C's are really growing on me.
  4. it is a pleasure to look at cars of that quality BTW the thing you have done with the lights looks awesome but arent the MOT testers a bit dodgy with that sort of thing? Probably arent but either way it looks cool. Love the wheels as well. I think that C's look better with a wheel thats not super flashy. They compliment the car really well. What are they off? A beetle?

Olly I think I must have looked at all the sites you have as I was very unsure about how quick the 2 litre C is. When I got mine I put it up against my old Golf 8v GTi Mk 2 which has kent cams and a k&n and not forgetting a 1200 quid engine rebuild about 4000 miles ago. I was very suprised when I eased away from it as the 0-60 for the stock standard golf 8v is around the high 8's - 9 . With the cams etc I would have though this was a bit lower so I would say around the low to mid 8's. Problem for both of us was that we had both had to change to third in the 50's which slows down the 0-60 time. Its def not 10.3 though which I have seen written somewhere. Later Buz
  6. a "downhill climb" very interesting
  7. cheers man Hope to see you on the road
  8. got a wave off a guy in a dark blue C (think it was a VR6 but not sure (no badge on grill from what i could see)) travelling through Menston at around 5:30 - 6ish monday night!
  9. no Just when it is closed. Just bobbed out in it and sure enough with the sun in the sky its fine.
  10. hey On cold mornings I have to slam the doors shut with the force of a thousand men just so they stay closed, otherwise they can pop open. I dont have the same problems when its warmer though! Gonna take a look at the mechs on them this weekend and clean them and lube em up a bit but is this a common problem and a sign that i need to change the door mechs? Later Buz
  11. never had a problem with em 120 quid for discs, pads and wheel bearings for both front and rear being the most recent addition to my C. But at the same time Gringo60 is right- check they are not for a merc
  12. nice work I too upgraded from a Golf GTi Get some pics on!
  13. thought so. might have to get it and chrome it to lighten the mood in the engine bay
  14. was never a fan of red corrados until i clapt eyes on yours. excellent work mate Later Buz
  15. you have probably seen this Check these out http://www.gtiworld.fsnet.co.uk/16V_G60.htm http://www.bahnbrenner.com/bbmservices/16v.html VW Motorsport gave us just a glimpse of the power a supercharged 16V engine can produce. VW Motorsport custom built only seventy 1.8 liter, 16 valve, G60 Supercharged "GTI Limited" cars. These Supercharged 16V Golf's are not to be confused with the 8V G60 Rally Golf cars, as they are much more rare and powerful. This racing effort was sought to maximize the performance from the VW 4-cylinder engine for use on the Rally circuit. Combining 16V engine parts, custom parts and the 16V cylinder head with a G60 G-Lader supercharger makes for an extremely wide and powerful torque band. This engine combination delivers incredible performance per liter. VW Motorsport no longer offers any components for the Limited 16V-G60 engine making it difficult to duplicate, until now. BBM has all of the integration parts in limited quantity to make this extreme 4-cylinder powerhouse an easy bolt on. By utilizing advanced computer aided engineering and manufacturing techniques BBM now makes a limited kit available in this turn key package. BBM has taken the Limited 16V-G60 concept a few steps farther by engineering several versions giving you the flexibility to choose one of several base engine block platforms and superchargers. BBM has designed these limited kits to use either a VW G60 G-Lader or BBM Screw Compressor Supercharger, hence the BBM Supercharged-16V. The free revving 16V engine with its highly efficient cylinder head with supercharger delivers a seriously healthy power curve throughout the extended RPM range. Forget VW Motorsport's "Limited" version, consider your Supercharged -16V "UNLIMITED" Without the race class engine restrictions imposed upon the original 16V Limited. You can specify your base engine, choice of supercharger and kit "Options" to maximize the power of this unique and rare configuration. Applications and Combinations (top) This section is to define what is required and the best way for you to go about building your BBM 16V Supercharged engine. Key Point: The BBM 16V Supercharged engine setup is a blend of parts from two engine platforms. Combining G60 parts and 16V parts with our custom integration package completes the system. There are basically two ways to go about building your Supercharged 16V engine. If you currently have a G60 1.8 Liter engine you will be needing parts from the 16V 1.8 or 16V 2.0 Liter engine to complete the system. Vice versa, if you currently have a 16V 1.8 or 2.0 Liter engine as your base then you will need parts from the G60 engine platform. No matter what platform you start with you will need to round up an intake manifold off of a 16V Scirocco engine. If you happened to have acquired a complete 16V Scirocco engine, then you can consider getting the intake manifold as a bonus. Build Option #1 (G60 As Your Base Engine): No matter what engine platform you start with as your base, the best way is to build up an engine with custom pistons and the correct compression ratio for this boosted application. If you want your base to be the G60 engine platform using the G60 block, rods and crank. You will have to use custom pistons with correctly cut value relief's and the right compression ratio for boost. BBM has these custom pistons in a limited quantity. Required 16V Parts: · Custom BBM low compression 16V pistons for use in the G60 block · 16V Cylinder head complete · 16V Scirocco Intake manifold lower and upper · 16V Distributor, complete · 16V Distributor Block off plate complete · 16V oil pump, complete · 16V Secondary shaft and gears complete · 16V Timing belt and gears, complete · 16V Exhaust Manifold or 16V Header Build Option #2 (16V As Your Base Engine): If your starting base engine is the 16V platform then you can use a thicker copper head gasket to achieve a lower compression ratio for use with the boost. This is not the best or correct way to generate the proper compression ratio on any engine, although it is a simple and less expensive route. The preferred method on the 16V base engine is to also use custom pistons with the correct compression ratio for this Supercharged system. BBM has these custom pistons in a limited quantity. Required G60 Parts: · G60 G-Lader Supercharger or BBM Screw Compressor Supercharger · G60 G-Lader mounting brackets and belt tensioner complete · G-Lader outlet (silencer box) or BBM RSR outlet kit · G60 Serpentine / idler pulleys for water pump and alternator · G60 AC pump or European water pump pulley · G60 Throttle body, complete · G60 Fuel Injectors and FPR · G60 Idle stabilizer valve (ISV) · G60 Digifant1 ECU and engine wire harness · G60 Digifant control relay · G60 Oxygen sensor · G60 Water temperature sensor (blue) · G60 CO% potentiometer · G60 Relays, fuel pump · G60 Intercooler hoses to and from the G-Lader · G60 Lower water pump pipe · Upper and lower coolant hoses · G60 Radiator and fan assembly
  16. hey, I have seen a 50mm flowed Inlet manifold for 16V VW Golf. Will this fit onto my 2.0l 16v C and if so will it make a differance to performance in anyway. If it does fit would i have to change the cars setup in anyway as well like the fuel mix etc. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Matt
  17. hi i am the King of Oman and i drive a corrado
  18. Hey, Last year I had the pleasure of going to the classic car motor show at the NEC. Although not to everyones taste I highly recommend it. Unfortunately though I was very dissapointed to see that there was only one corrado in the building. Alot of people talk about the C as a "future classic!" and I thought it would be good to have some good examples of it at the show. There is a strong showing at the show for "future classics" (audi quattro;s golf gtis etc) and indeed some that, to me, should not be even in the building. If these are there then the C should be too!!! An original example of each of the derivatives would be superb. I was seriously contemplating taking mine down but ever since some pikey f****r did a hit on run on my ass (drivers side rear wheel arch dented) my car is not exactly in showroom condition. Its just a thought I had, and one that I put to my fellow C lovers. http://www.classiccarshow.co.uk/ Its on sat 8th-9th of november if anyone is interested Later all Buz
  19. Had a drive in my mates 1966 cherry red 289 v8 Ford Mustang convertible. Have to say that for the cash he paid (5k) there is no other car that grabs peoples attention like it. Bit scary on english roads though and I found myself doing some serious kerb hogging. But realistically I would love a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 2. Which to me is sex on wheels..................in a way like a tarty girlfriend. Not necessaritly great to look at and not to everyones taste but everyone wants a go in her cos she goes like stink!!!! :D
  20. hey Got mine on ebay 2 weeks ago. I believe there are some still on there though I cant be sure. They set me back 75 quid including the post and packing which is steep as buggery but I had no other options. Later Buz
