  1. I was going to buy 5 litres of each from the Opie Oil man - the discounts were good - then her oil light refused to go out and she needs the car everyday so off to Halfords it was.
  2. Denied! Anyway she was only able to buy two litres and her car drank 75 cl straight away so I'll buy my own so I'm not mixing oils. Cheers
  3. Cool - I've sent the wife off to buy five litres of oil for HER car and now I can also use it in MINE - result!
  4. At risk of being thought a muppet (too late!) but because I don't know and am not too old to learn, why does my wife's car need 5W/40 Fully Synthetic oil and my Corrado need something else (10W/50 perhaps?)? Is it simply the age difference?
  5. Was there a special offer code to use or are you just great at haggling?
  6. Dunno mate, you need one of those clever chaps that talk about rolling radius and have pictures of lots of wheels and tyres . . . I'm sure there'll be one along soon . . .
  7. Bronson - 6/10 (he was a wierd bloke!) Observe and Report - 3/10 (some of the right ingredients but just didn't work) Inglorious Basterds - 6/10 (clever idea, didn't need to be mostly in French and German, perhaps I'm just not a Tarrantino person)
  8. I have two sets of Speedlines - one with 205s and one with 195s and I can't tell much difference between them.
  9. New number plates front and back cos the old ones were letting down the overall look of the car.
  10. DIGGER B - I bought wheels, tyres, lights, badges from him. All great nick, he fitted everything for me, prices were very reasonable. He even wanted to clean my car for me. Top TOP bloke.
  11. After adding the goodies on Saturday I had to give it a real good clean - it was embarassing! Don't sell you VR6 Stu, don't do it, you will regret it big time. You'll have to get it tested and taxed to sell it, so drive it then you'll not be able to part with it.
  12. Thanks for the comments! As ever the camera does lie (a little). There are a few dings and scratches here and there. But for 17 years it's in pretty good nick. Now I need to kept layering on the love regularly to keep it looking good!
  13. Think this is a July offer and may therefore run out on Friday. I bought £55 worth of stuff and it only cost me £32. Might have to stock the garage shelf with some Super Resin Polish and the soft top on the wifes broom stick could do with some cleaner and condition being applied to it.
  14. Was interesting on Top Gear seeing Senna drive right into another driver at turn one to secure the championship. Schumacher was rightly criticised for doing the same thing, but Senna isn't tarred with the same brush. Those older cars were monsters and those guys were REAL drivers!
  15. If it was "Team Orders" which are against the rules why not disqualify the two drivers from the race and no points. If you offered each team the chance of securing a one two finish for the pittance of 100k Euros every team would bite your hand off. FIA get a grip or just acknowledge it is a team sport and let the teams do what they like. This halfway house is rubbish.
  16. Thanks for the tip, there are so many products out there and so much advice it is quite bewildering. I've heard the red paint is softer than darker colours and needs different products. Perhaps I'll upgrade the Corrado regime to Auto Glym all round and relegate the Meguiars products to the wife's BMW. Anythings better than the Waves Car Wash men at Tesco who slash in the bucket to get some suds . . .
  17. Cheers Jim, the Megs stuff is OK but when it's gone I'll be looking at Auto Glym or maybe Dodo Juice Orange Crush . . .front view.jpg[/attachment:uw4hctu6]
  18. Weekend of making things shiny. Newly refurbed Speedlines and new Toyos New rear VW and VR6 badges All red rears (All above from Digger B who also insisted on fitting everything - top bloke. If ever he sells his Black VR6 I'll be first in the queue and selling a kidney) Replaced bulbs for left side reversing and fog lights. Replaced clutch and brake pedal rubbers. Washed it Dried it Attacked it with 3M Finesse It (thanks for introducing me to this Digger) Meguiars Polish Meguiars Wax Auto Glym Glass Cleaner inside and out Had a go at the exhaust pipe with Autosol Brimmed it with £65 worth of Tesco Momentum 99 Looks much better than it did yesterday morning.
  19. Treated the VR6 to newly refurbed Speedlines and tyres, all red rears, new VR6 rear badge, new rear VW badge (thanks Digger B for all of these things) and new pedal rubbers. Need to give it a ruddy good clean now because it is disgracefully dirty!
  20. Cheers - I got me some of them. VW Parts Dept at Driftbridge recommended the accelerator pedal rubber from a left hand drive audi TT for the corrado accelerator. So I guess it's off to eBay.de for one of those. Either that or they were having a laugh with me, fitting instructions suggesting use of left handed screw driver . . .
  21. Dog Soldiers (for the second time) 7/10. Darkly funny "horror film"
  22. Seen this in the metal recently - is fantastic.
