  1. Wall to wall blue skies and sunshine down here in Surrey - better get a move on!
  2. Snap . . . . that isn't the sound of the tensioner snapping! I mean my Flash Red VR6 is with DG this week for the same treatment. Drove up Saturday morning (M25, M40, M42 - 137 miles 2 hours) and then enjoyed the Polo Courtesy Vehicle on the way back. They sent me similar pictures too . . . . See you on Saturday - we can compare invoices!

  4. I got suitable calipers on eBay for £35 . . .
  5. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=92311&p=1064604&hilit=lube#p1064604 Think this might help
  6. I was there too in my Flash Red VR6, Flash Red jacket and hat. Still quite new to this Corrado ownership and but getting the hang of it slowly. Your Storm did look very tidy!
  7. I will be there too, picking up my car after a week in the hands of the experts. :D
  8. Bought some Golf Mk3 brake calipers to facilitate 288 conversion by DG at the same time as they sort the suspension, gearbox and chains etc.
  9. Made my mirrors work again. First the drivers mirror wouldn't work then a few weeks later the passenger mirror stopped moving too. Then a search of the forum found this http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=42806&p=498651&hilit=remove+mirror+switch#p498651. I followed the instructions and low and behold I have two working mirrors again. Thanks forum!
  10. Might be interested in these if they'll fit under 15 inch Speedlines - assuming the other chap doesn't want first dibs.
  11. Hmmm - thanks for the input chaps. Don't really want to change the tyres on the 16s as I'll end up with some P6000s to sell to the Golf community and end up losing more cash and the Speedlines will lose me cash too . . . . grrrrrr damn my impulsive ill informed automotive purchases!! Perhaps the speedlines need to go back on and move the 16s on again . . . .
  12. Soooooo, the tyres are OK for the wheels they are on BUT result in a higher rolling radius than intend for the Corrado. If the only consequences are the speedo misread and a slightly higher ride I can live with that.
  13. Haven't made my mind up yet so I'll hang on to the standard one for a while. They do take up more of the wheel arch than I was expecting, the ride is certainly higher over the traffic calming measures. I also note that the speedo indicates a lower speed that the sat nav by a couple of miles per hour at higher speeds. What size should be on them? They are Pirelli P6000 205/55 R16 . . . 73500 miles now, running well now the rubbish leads and failed camshaft sensor were replaced at DG on Friday. BUT gear box bearing making nasty noises in first. Was expecting the suspension to be knackered and give me the justification to replace it but it seems in very good nick for the year. I'm told the later VRs run higher giving that 4x4 look. That's it for cosmetic changes - gearbox, chains and clutch next plus various bushes, joints and top mounts. Damn, there's no hope for me now!
  14. Thanks to CorradoVR6-Turbo for the Flash Red grill.
  15. New wheels, Lupo GTI Wipers and colour matched grille - Oh no I've succumbed the pressure!
  16. Changed the wheels from 15 inch Speedlines to these (ex Golf wheels)2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC00845.JPG[/attachment:173qnh5k] Then drove 150 miles to DG for a check over. Good job I did because Dave diagnosed a misfire which has been intermittently spoiling all the fun due to rubbish HT leads (quick change over to dub power replacements which are excellent value). Gear change linkage was very loose so that was fixed and then the final check uncovered a failed camshaft position sensor which meant I was down on power by about 40 bhp! Not a stock item on the shelf but Graham was gracious enough to let me have the new one recently fitted to his car. I also have a list of smaller things that need doing long term plus some bigger items like the dreaded chains and a pesky bearing in the gearbox that makes first gear a bit noisy. So we could be looking at major open wallet surgery!DSC00856.JPG[/attachment:173qnh5k] I even got a couple of free pens! :salute:
  17. Fitted Lupo GTI wiper arms, still need to bend the passenger side arm. Tomorrow - new wheels then a drive up to DG Autotech - come on!
  18. Thanks to Tez180 for the Lupo wiper arms and blades. Perfect, well packed and rapid delivery.
  19. In my 7 months of Corrado ownership a number of people have looked admiringly at my VR6 and said "That's the one with the 2.8 in it isn't it?". Now I thought it was a 2.9 but clearly a number of people have the idea that it is a 2.8. What's all that about then?
  20. I am selling it, he is exporting it and trying to sell it on when in Poland. So not 100% sure what to do.
  21. Selling my bike today to a polish guy who is taking it back to Poland today and then he is selling it on. All fine in theory, have already been paid in legit cash and his "guys" are collecting it this afternoon. Not clear what to do on the V5. There is a section for Export but I think that is if I export it. :help: Anyone got experience of doing this please?
  22. 1980's brakes - don't you just love them?
