Yeah I got my Silver 16v Corrado there.

Paid top money for it, but couldn't resist.

 

Only had one problem but got sorted quickly and hassle free.

I left the deposit they did a service and new MOT, pick it up a week later.

Was it bout a year ago? 120kish on the clock? black cloth interior?

When i was looking for my c about a year ago i went to autotek to look at a silver valver, it was mint and they were asking top dollar. the guy who worked there wasnt all that helpful and did not have a long old chat about corrados as you would of expected....

Same thing happened to me yesterday...on my way to get an M.O.T, luckily the missus was following! Ive probably driven past ya a few times, i live in Putney, where abouts do you live?

and passed with flying colours! I was gobsmacked...I really though i would need something doing! The guy that it was in really good nick for the age!!

Started a policy with them in August,very impressed! bettered the only other 'reasonable' quote i got by 500 quid!! They always rang me back if i couldnt get through and I felt the guy who sold me the policy knew about dubs.

90 degrees running temp is fine. Half way across the guage on any other car is considered normal, so why should it be any different on the Corrado? People just get overly paranoid about temps on the VR because they can *see* the temps on the guage.

 

2 things,

 

1. The temp scale on the guage is a rough guide, it isn't gospel. You'll notice the red section i.e. NOW you should worry, is right at the top of the scale and few engines ever venture that high.

 

2. So long as the temp stops climbing at a certain point in traffic, the fans are working and it's maintaing the engine at the temperature the factory set.

 

And 70 degrees (actual) is too low and I would personally not be happy with that as it affects the fuelling. I like to see 85-90 on the water and 100 on the oil.

Maybe thats why my valver drinks fuel.....I have a problem with my rad fan, it is always on..hence my water temps never venture above 70,unless its hot outside!

Did you buy this in London (possibly SW) from a lady? does it have a big ding in the drivers side door?

I'd defo be up for a t-shirt, always good to show off our cars,youd get people walking behind you looking at the forum name thinking what the fack is a corrado :lol:

Got mine yesterday, Jims car is looking and running very sweetley!! The car on the back is gorgeous....apart from the wheels.....not feeling those at all :cry:

those are the recommended Tyre pressures for the 1.816v on 15's, if your comfortable with those pressures then leave em'! if not try 30/32 or there abouts, I also have Toyo T1's, they felt s**t when i first put them on, take it easy for a bout 100 miles then they will feel 100 times better!

Being 5' 4" I don't really have problems with seat height, and find the Recaro's in the Campaign to be very good. A bit firm sometimes for my liking, but that's more the "leather effect" than a complaint.

ive seen this guy a few times, in a black vr6 driving past battersea. He was driving towards wandsworth roundabaout, nice 17s on his. The car looked immacualte.

 

The look on the guys face when he saw my rado. heh heh/

 

One thing ive noticed is that, bordeaux pearl is quite a rare colour, and it does get a lot of notice. I think he was trying to work out y the car sounded like a v8

Thank God! Ive finally been spotted, this must of been me, i work in battersea/wandsworth and i do recall seeing you on the wandsworth roundabout! Nice to think you thought i had a VR6 though! its only a 1.816v! but i do indeed have some very nice 17'' BBS RZ, See you round mate!

Get yourself down to Halfords and pick up a Sony CDX-S2000, there only a hundred notes and its a fairly decent stereo, and it looks quite nice too, unlike the JVC headunits that Halfords sell for similiar money!

Ive driven one of these and they are lovely! My mechanic used to work for Nissan and by the sounds of it he said they were pretty to work on and parts didnt cost the earth? They are super quick but do look a bit dated!

I think a 'How to' is in order :wink:

Does anyone know what became of the campaign that was spotted on the autotrader probably early part of this year/end of last year? If I remember rightly it was up for silly money, 4k springs to mind :shock:

Hes not selling it at the mo, I think he said in about a year or so, ive got his number! If im in a position to buy it then i will defo call him!!

Got talking to a guy a few days ago at work, he had a P reg VR6 that he bought from new. He was saying something to me about there only being 5 in the country and that VW had 5 shells left over after the storm and they specced em with leather and air. His was black with black leather with only 30k on the clock!!!!! He was thinking of selling it but wanted about 8k for it :shock:

Anyone heard about these last five corrados? I feel he was talking boll**ks!!

The car was a minter, completley standard except for an induction cat and magnex cat back, I wanted it badly!!!

I always used to use optimax but my cars thirst meant it was staring to get very expensive, i have been using bogo standard unleaded for a few tanks now and I cant say i notice a difference, it has never pinked once :wink:

Just push the metal rod downwards......

I love it when an irratating problem finally gets fixed!!! Now go out and enjoy the weather in your car....well if the sun roof works that is!!!
