I have always uded t-cut to take out minor scuffs of the paint work, it seems to remove them and doesnt damage the paint, theres a fine line between removing scuffs and removing lacquer, too much elbow grease and theres goes the lacquer!!!
-
Thats really shitty mate, I would of thought that if anyone was gonna have respect for a car then it would at least of been an enthusiast!! I really hate people that steal and damage, they should be shot
-
Yeah I agree with henny, I always rag my 16v to the redline when its nicely warmed up, you have to if you want it tom go fast! 16v engines live for high revs, hence the relatively high redline!!! you wont damage it unless its cold mate!
-
A mate of myne had an 89 GTi 16v and he used LRP every few tanks of optimax, I dunno why but he said the car seemed to really like LRP?
-
You could try a porsche dealership? The big halfords stores can make up any colour under the sun so I assume they have a book of codes?
-
I put a 3 slat on my 89 16v, it fitted on fine, it was a bit tight though and needed a bit of persuassion but nothing snapped!
-
The alpine headunits are very good mate, and the black ones are quite understated and look nice in a c with a dark interior :D
-
if they are based in the UK and advertising them on the net at £0.00 then they have to sell them at that price!!Oh no they don't.
It is only an invitation to treat and therefore, it does not form a binding contract until they accept your offer of zero pence.
Yeah this guy is correct it is an invitation to treat, and therefore under contract law the seller is under no legal obligation to sell the product for the princely sum of£0.00 :)
who else studies law on here?
-
No offence mate but why are you on a corrado forum asking about paint colours for a commodore?
-
Yeah it was very annoying mate, hows the g60 goin'?
-
The problem is now sorted! The timing chain was out a few teeth  its all sorted now and running beautifully.
Thanks for everyones help, exturbo2003 was spot on :!: and to answer ya question im in SW London :-P
-
Nice lookin motor, and nice mileage
-
My backs are black and they fit perfectly, i only got myne a few weeks ago, maybe theyve changed their supplier?
-
I waited about 4 weeks then i started to chase them, after about a couple of cock-ups on their behalf, first they wernt ordered when i originally placed the order, then the wrong quality came in, i recieved them after about 5/6 weeks. what are ya not impressed with mate?
-
All the timings have been double checked by both the mechanics at the garage, do you think the vernier pulley may fix it then kev? what exactly does it do? are they expensive? cheers mate

When I asked back in September last year VW mats were still available but apparently are cr4p quality and at £50 you're better off buying some good quality after market C branded ones...joebrent, are these tailored to be the right shape for the C or is it one size fits all?
Yeah mate all there mats are tailored especially for the cars. I had to wait a while for them and had to chase up the guy but i got a good discount because of it
the guy who runs justmatz (and the guy i had to chase!) was in PVW either this issue or last issue(cant remember), he owns a heavily modded mk4. I cant fault them for quality though
-
The mechanic had already checked the co mixture, everything normal and all other suggestions have been tried and unfortuneatley failed :(
Is it possible that the mechanic could of skimmed the head too much? would this cause similiar problems? What would be the implications of an incorrectly installed head gasket?
Any ideas are greatley appreciated.
-
I got a set from justmatz.co.uk, they were £40 quid and you can have whatever colour and piping you like! They are really good quality and the corrado logo looks excellent
As for the vw mats, they show up as obsolete but i think milton keynes did have a few left, there not very good quality though :(
-
daft suggestion but have you had the co mixture checked  could be that uts running very rich or lean and thats what the problem is.did a rebuild on a 16v golf before that was set at 1.5% and after the rebuild it was 11%, ie no more slight air leaks as the gaskets and injector seals were good.
if you dont have access to one go to your local mot station ang give the guy a drink to check it tho he will probably do it for free, or will adjust it for a few beers.
good luck and let us know how you get on
Cheers mate, im gona give that info to the mechanic tomorrow, im praying this is gona fix it!!
-
Yeah they have tried that mate, thanks for posting a pic up though!
-
Thanks for all the ideas guys, i think these might do the trick! Ill keep everyone posted on this thread as to what happens :D
Thanks once again.

The garage that recently skimmed my head and replaced the head gasket still cant fathom the running problems that have occured as result of the work. An auto-electrician has spent 2 hours on it and couldnt work out the problem. Im getting really desperate to get it sorted now. I created a thread last week about the problem and have tried all of the suggestions that you guys kindly put forward, but alas none of these worked :(
The problems are - irratic idle, i.e, doesnt idle at 1000 like it used its up and down and feels like it wants to stall. I f anyone can help it would be greatley appreciated
-
thats not a bad pirce mate, its very low mileage and a full vwsh is worth a mint with corrado's
-
Snap on the wheels, the brake light looks nice too :-P
