  1. Ugh. Its not ideal really. I heard of similar problems in a road up near where I work. Staff of the company were struggling to fit into the provided parking so were spreading out into some neighbouring roads, with one set of residents actually slashing tyres and keying cars. Its outrageous really.

Not sure what to suggest really.. a day or two off work hidden in a van with blacked out windows watching for these chicken sh^ts?

  2. Another Autoblog post but figure this is of more interest for most Rado owners ;)

Hard to tell what its going to look like under that much camoflage but it certainly seems to have lost a LOT of the visual impact of the IROC we saw at Berlin last year now that its riding on more normal / bottom of the range type alloy wheels!

At least it means the project has not been canned as had been originally feared..?

  3. I had the same symptoms with idling - a new ISV sorted it out! Worth picking up a spare on eBay if you can find one.. I got one from an Audi 80 2.0E - they use the same 9A engine as the Corrado and whilst the ISV looks a little different, it works just as well :) Cured my issues!

I did my ISV with carb cleaner a few times to no great effect for the record! If the ISV is dirty then yeah that'll sort it, but if its duff then there is no miracle cure! :(

  4. I can appreciate how it must be getting to you mate.. hence my multiple Corrado owning past. Notice how I came back every time too.. to be honest with the amount you've ploughed into your motor it'd be a tragedy to shift it once you'd got it sorted.

I'd try giving vince a ring.. he's definately the man for the VR's but isn't a mug when it comes to other Corrado engines! :)

And as Yan said about fuel pump run on.. it only does it in certain situations - i've never heard mine run on once the engine is off!

  5. Have you phoned up and had a chat to Vince at Stealth? He may be able to suggest some things you've not done yet (even though you seem to have done just about everything looking at some of your previous posts) - and is usually fairly happy to impart some advice on the blower!

  6. I must admit i've sort of lost my way with the VW mags and have just gone onto the bigger fish like Car / Top Gear / Evo..

Yeah, admittedly they do feature articles on cars you are just really never going to buy (SUV's, etc) but they do interesting articles on real performance cars, history of manufacturers, etc and I just really prefer that sort of stuff over VW specific show reports and so forth. I think mags like PVW do a pretty good job considering they're limiting themselves to a few specific makes / models especially as the winter months set in and the show cars (and the shows!) dry up.

  7. It does all seem to be cyclical.. its weird.. some months its a spate of breakin's, some months its a lot of the same problem occurring, and some months its cars being crashed.

Been on these forums for a while (well, since the start!) and this year doesn't seem to be any worse than previous years - though with the cost of Corrado's dropping so much, more insurers are writing em off so more are being split for parts rather than being fixed.

    Shame really :(

  8. I personally think only standard silver finish will suit to be honest. Grey will look colour coded, black will look.. wrong.. on a grey car as will white IMHO.

Go stock finish, definately. Plus when it comes to selling them on down the line if you change wheels again, it really limits your market if you've done something weird and wonderful to them!

  9. This has come up a bit on here...

Probably the quickest, cheapest way of making an improvement is to just fit some very good quality Phillips or similar headlights. I compared my Corrado (with an uprated loom) to another with some good quality Phillips bulbs in and there wasn't much in it.. probably your best option if you can't afford to have the car in bits out of the front of the flat :)

  10. I really like the TT's personally.. its just so annoying that they sold so many as fleet / rep cars, thus making them so incredibly common on the roads! :( I guess on the plus side, that will help bring down costs a bit of 2nd hand ones!

  11. You shouldn't need VAGCOM after just disconnecting the battery! As has been said, the ECU should relearn values from the car as you drive it.. so just change the battery over and take it for a good drive in a variety of situations - open road, bit of traffic and so forth so that it can relearn appropriate values.
