  1. I just went down to my local Car Bar and he ordered the last G60 fram oil filter from the wholesaler i have no idea if they'll just get a load more in stock ect ? seems weird to let it run down to the very last one though?

     

    looks like i'll be using a Mann one from now on from GSF

  2. I'm using my lazerline one still .... and i really want remote central locking, remote boot unlock plus the extra security of a newer alarm

     

    you can go mad and get remote engine start ect but i just want a good reliable one ?

     

    would be good to hear what kinda money i should expect to be handing over? say the 200 300 mark fitted? i really dont know ?

     

    clifford ? toad ? which model aswell ?

My friend has a Z1 and he really likes it (incredible camera) but everyone has different experiences with mobile brands I've had Sony phones for years now and they keep getting better and better, so im gonna wait until the Z2 is released in april time? i'll never give apple a penny of my money lol


  4. you do mean the plastic silencer on the exhaust side of the G-ladder ? if so I got one mate im just cleaning it up now then ill post a pic

  5. I would probably go for a jetex 2 or 3 box system (if it were my money) it'll set you back like £350 but i read allot of good things about the fit for the G60 and its also got a large 2.5" bore which is pretty meaty (most are only 2.25" or 2" )and will give a good noise.

    otherwise i would say find a custom exhaust place and get some quotes in but its gonna hit the £300 mark

     

    also try to source a Decat pipe if it hasn't already got one

     

    manifolds are pretty big money on G60's(£500 mark spanking new) as there are loads designed for left hand drives which will burn through your steering rack you need to be careful which you buy

     

    might be worth getting your original manifold ported out with matching porting on the block ? again pretty expensive

     

    you could easily spend well over £1000 on a NEW zorst, decat, manifold

     

    would sound sweet though 8)

    The blue badge grommets cost pence, and swapping them for new ones makes a huge difference to how firmly the badges are held on. PM me your address and I'll send you a couple.

    Yeah it was a moment of looking around and ....no surely not ? YES! i then drove home grinning like an idiot lol

     

    i was dreading having to shell out around £50 for one (seen on ebay for that price)... cause i'm saving up for a new gearbox and clutch at the moment


  7. well .....in an insane stroke of luck i was sat in traffic today on my way to work and actually spotted MY rear VW badge at the side of the road 8) so i jumped out the car and grabbed it and its not even damaged.

     

    would be good if we could find a source of these badges in chrome for the future though ? as i dont think ill be so lucky again lol


  8. i'm gonna have to keep my eyes peeled on ebay cause i swear there was a company selling them from greece (not original part) i know there is one currently up for sale but its at £25 plus £5 for post and its got 5 days left so it will go for silly money for what it is.

     

    i can get a black one from ebay but my car is grey so black will look kinda weird hmmm


  9. Hi all

     

    just looking to get some input for this

     

    On Monday i was driving on boost at about 15 PSI (felt it come off boost suddenly) and the RSR outlet itself came away from the charger outlet lucky i was very close to home so i got it home straight away to find that the RSR securing bolt had taken some of the thread away from the charger outlet pic attached

     

    Now i used the same bolt which was originally from the standard silencer and used it for my BAR-TEK RSR, which im guessing is a bit fatter than the original part so giving less thread to tap?

     

    Im thinking of using a longer M8 bolt and using spacers where necessary to get a greater hold into the thread....just a little scared that if this happens again it could mean allot of hassle taking charger out, tapping a larger thread ect

     

    has anyone had this happen to them ?

  10. wow that's a great standard G right there...... the paint looks immaculate ,has it had a respray ? if not someone has been really looking after that red paint!!!!

     

    you need an early 7 slat grill on there !

     

    also is it just me or does it have a late style bonnet ?


  11. i got a veleo one recently and fit it myself its a great OE fit no jiggling around all pipes, sensors and fittings go together, like a glove!!(ace ventura8)) ....only thing i would say is that you should thread the holes for fixing your rad cowling to the rad itself before you fit it to your car as i discovered lol

     

    think i payed about 100 ? from my local motor factors

     

    Do Vw not have the original part in stock anymore ?

     

    have you considered getting an aluminium rad?
