  1. Pretty much agree with the above in that you should not Put a heavy VR engine in a G60 shell

so if there are only 8 corrado's in new zealand?

you should go 16v G60 lol

VW's 16vG60 is a legendary engine it was VW's most powerfull engine (210BHP) for 12 years ? until the R32(237BHP) popped up in 2003? and even then with some smaller pulleys + remap the 16vG60 will be on parr (if not quicker as its lighter) with the R32 V6 gang and inkeeping with your car's G60 heritage 8)

but bang for buck 20v turbo is hard to beat really........

  2. In no particular order

    1.AC cobra

    2.Dodge Viper hennessey

    3.Lister Storm

    4.Audi Ur Quattro sport

    5.1980 LOTUS ESSEX TURBO ESPRIT

6.1977 Porsche 911 turbo .........one day

    7.16vG60 Golf Limited

    8.Noble M600

    9.koenigsegg ccx

10.Dodge Challenger in white (vanishing point8))

  3. hmmmm i'll have to keep my eyes peeled for that eilbach strutbrace ......yours is the exact type im after dammit

yeah wild bunch is a good class to run in everyone is always willing to help and a good laugh .......yeah if you see us at any of the events mate come say hello here is a picy of it

  4. ahhh another drag racer ...... my old man races in the wild bunch class and our dragster is called Jurrasic Parts and my uncle and cousin race a fuel altered class and thats called Motor Psycho ? dunno if you know those cars ?

also where did you get the strut brace from mate?

  5. does the car feel slow? low PSI just means that the engine is using the boost well

what PSI/Bar are you running at full throttle? if your taking a reading from the MFA on the dash ....... i would totally ignore this to be honest mate its pretty much useless when you have some mods like RSR outlets ect

also whats the spec of the engine? does it have a stainless manifold + exhaust ? or a ported head? also pully sizes will change boost levels

take off your outlet on the exhaust side of the charger and check for oil caking the walls mate but i would also phone jabbasport and ask some advice as they did the charger for you

  6. Well i took this week off work to get some work done on the car and the weather has been amazing all week which was a bonus but.... i got my G60 running again WOOOOP!!!

This is what it took .......

fitted a new radiator and tapped new threads into the Rad for the cowling + New low temp rad switch

New radiator elbow + New seal

New Drive Belt 1642 i belive?

Sanded down , primed then painted my radiator cowling gloss black then re-fit to the new radiator

Re insulated allmost all the wiring in the engine bay with some fabric wiring tape

Full coolant flush and now fresh G12

Oil change + Fram oil filter

Cleaned K&Npannel filter and re-oiled it

Cleaned all my intercooler pipework down then refitted it with new jubile's all round

Took all the wheels off the car and used some good wheel cleaner all over (they came up very well)

Hoovered the inside and then cleaned all the trim throughout

A good old wash then some super resin polish all over

Fitted my Re-built Stage four Jabbasport supercharger with new feed and return bolts and washers, before i put it in i used a syringe to inject some fresh oil into the feed and return ports then once in the car connected up cranked it over to 10 seconds with the HT lead out and FIRST turn of the key she fired up.....

and tomorrow im going to santa pod to work on my dads dragster at santa pod all day ..... should be good

  7. from what ive seem most places that rebuild chargers(jabbsport, JMR, G-werks) will stratch a refference number into the charger not like your branded numbers .....so i would assume like the other guys have said that it has not been rebuilt.......

and coming from personal experience i would get your charger rebuilt asap mate its just not worth tempting it plus finding a good replacement charger is getting pretty difficult unless you buy a new unit which is £2000.... lol

as has been said above the amount of boost your charger is making is not the best guide to its health as it may be slowly eating itself but still making boost

  8. Just to clarify im after the metal screw housing in the centre of the rubber grommet .......not the black arm shown above as mine are still okay.

bugger..... well im gonna try to salvage mine by drilling the sheered bolt out and re-tapping a thread , but if i mess it up im fecked basicly i cant fit my new radiator without them and i took the whole week off work so i can fit my new radiator and fresh stage 4 G charger plus loads of ither bits and bobs ......really anoying when such a small item is holding everything up

    *shakes fist at VW parts*

  9. Right so the arms which hold the rad to the slam pannel are held in place by a spacer which is housed in a rubber grommet thing

VW have none in stock and as usual they are also obselete

The part no for the screw housing

    535121276c

Part no for the rubber grommet

    535121275

just wondering if anyone knows where i could get these items from?

    Cheers

  10. As said above speak to brian at jabba or john from JMR about sourcing the parts to build up a charger you cannot go wrong with either

Also i would really try and keep it with its original Charger setup as G60's are pretty rare now with their original engine setup plus you will need new manifolds mounting brackets ect. (allot of change under the bonnet)

I was in the excact same position with mine this febuary after my second charger bit the dust.....and i thought about the turbo route but in the end i spoke to brian at jabba and he sourced me the relavant casings seals and bearings and now ive got my G charger im so glad i stayed true to the G60 i think you would really miss the charm of the charged engine i know i would + the sound that superchargers make is pretty special.....

  11. Yeah i would imagine it to be the same thread? some people have to run the shorter oil filter for their oil coolers...... check out ebay there is always oil filters from good brand names going

have you not got a carbar sort of thing near you ? ..... the one to local me can always get me the tall G60 Fram oil filters for about a tenner.

  12. Yeah unfortunatly the internal bore is too small which is a bugger.... i though i may get away with heating up the hose and getting a very snug fit but no dice

as for silicone hose kits .... im pretty sure there is no difference from lhd to rhd the only difference is air con models?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-G60-88-93-Venair-BLACK-Silicone-Coolant-Hose-Kit-PG-/280881052230?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4165d0ba46

just found this site which sells for £150 ....although i have never heard of JBS hose kits so no idea on the quality

    http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/product/3609/2-piece-hose-kit-for-corrado-g60

been trying to put off buying a kit but reeally dont have any option now......

  13. Im in the exact same position mate tried looking everywhere with no luck unless you buy the full silicone hose kit for the G60

i did however buy a hose from ebay the other day which is part number 191121051E (jetta or passat lower rad hose) which is of the exact same design but a very slightly smaller bore on one side of the hose...... i'll let you know how i get on with it as i havnt had a chance to fit it tomorrow

No idea if that part is still available

    cheers
