  1. is your car an early model? as im sure there is differences in how the exhaust hangers on the car and on the system itself between 88-92 is early and anything after is late ?

im sure that you have a late style exhaust system there in your pics with staight bars instead of the hook ones used on early models

  2. yeah i recently replaced the rear speaker shelves and was fairly amazed at how bodged in the upgraded speakers were into my existing shelves (probably why they rattled and squeaked so much) sorted that out though with some fiddling

in regards to your new speakers which have a plastic face surrounding the top of the speaker im gonna go as far to say you will find it almost impossible to fit them with the plastic lip as the speaker shelf had a sort of basket underneath the speaker shelf where the arse of the speaker hangs(Where your is labelled GT6428) and this is a pretty snug fit for my speakers

just take the shelves out the car and trial with you new speakers and see how you get on (much easier to fit this way)

  3. Yeah things are good cheers mate im gonna have to come up and check out your G60 again i'll give Adam a bell soon

Well I've come round to the idea of booking mine into the garage to get her a MOT in the coming weeks (crapping myself) and getting some bits done so i should hit the road in early Feb .......still need to bed the charger in aswell

i really wanted those leather seats *shakes fist*

  4. To be honest an ebay account is essential as the majority of parts are now obselete from VW parts and looking on the parts for sale on here plus cars being broken up for spares

you can get a heap of corrado stuff on here buts its bloody expensive (based in germany)

they do bespoke corrado trim parts and theyre pretty pricey but extreemly well made (based in america)

also your local motor shop will be able to get you parts i'll often get bits from them that VW cant offer anymore

  6. Hello all

so basicly my G has been off the road since feb this year and ive started it up and moved it about every weekend pretty much with no trouble

although mine has always had an issue with starting first time its fine when warm but when cold it usually takes two turns of the key (its been like this for two years)

so today i went to start it up and i'll usually leave it to warm up and get things moving ect and it started after the second turn of the key and then died after about 30 seconds of running ( it didnt splutter even slightly just died imediatly) i turned it over again it started .... ran for 10 seconds then died and now its dead and will only crank over but wont fire?

not really sure what to check tbh ? also i can hear a buzzing from the ISV and an actual pulse can be felt by hand from it when the key is live in the ignition.

I should also mention that my alt is not currently charging and i trickle charge batterys off the car and alternate them so i can fire the car

    any advise would be great

    cheers

  7. I take mine to VWcars

it's a little bit out the way but i had loads of bad experiences with all the local garages so i only go to there now

you want to speak to Vince there he deals with the older cars there i cant recomend them enough really helpfull and professional

  8. i'll get about 350- 400 miles to a tank but allot of that is driving on my own to work and then allot of short evening runs ect so mixed driving

i often see over 40 MPG(my highest being 47mpg) ......but even if i give it some serious bean, i dont often see less than 30 which is very good really

i think it also depends of how many people are in the car because when im four up i really strugle to break 30's lol + correct tyre pressures make a huge difference i find

  9. yeah to be fair you shouldnt really redline on a 68MM pully to often..... but showing up an ST focus or the like is allot of fun lol

good luck with the 65mm mate and check out Bar-Tek's other stuff theyre REALLY good for G60 parts so buy a few and save on freight(or give them to me) lol
