1. This year I have done a grand total of 800 miles in the Corrado ;)
2. I'm about too, just snowed at work :(
3. I remember reading that the 263 cams change the sound of the VR6 and significantly reduce the warble sound
4. Cheers Chris, I didn't think it was that bad. Also now many options for spares in the north East, especially for big items that don't have postage. Will let you know how I get on.....if I ever get around to fitting it :)
5. I got it for £51, yep chap is in saltburb
6. Yeah I know, however been looking for weeks and only Mk3 ones coming up with no motor for £30-50 and no postage option. This one I can collect at least.
7. Anyone know of anything unusual about this roof? Seems the same as the MK3 one? Thanks
8. If this part is obsolete then if someone can loan me one, I bet I can make a few up.
9. If also love to know if these can be sourced. My drivers side one is missing
10. That is some big big money......you'd really have to LOVE corrados :) Agree though, to build this car would cost that easy and that's not to mention all the hassle of sorting it out.
11. Looking good matey! Love that you are building a racer but also have it filled with dynamat ;)
12. Yep, you just set the pins to 4000rpm and it works perfectly
13. Yeah, the purists may not like them but I can't stand the Speedlines. Super Ugly in my view
14. Certainly looks like we're going to see a divide widening in the types of Corrados around in the future. The good ones are going to be minters and then the rest will rot away.
15. Got a nice pic at sunset in the Lake District. Drives soooo much better with the VGI and the 15" solitudes.
16. Managed to get the Shrick fitted on Friday and didn't need to cut the bonnet as we had lowered the engine 10mm for clearance on the Super charger, plus the Shrick has had a corner ground down in the past for clearance. Really glad as it made the whole fitting process much easier and no permanent alteration.
17. This is going to look sweet.....scary right now but it will come together and be worth it :)
18. Lush, always wanted one......pipe and slippers at the ready
19. Started fitting it on Thursday but only got so far before I realised that I'd bought the wrong lower manifold gasket (I had the one from the injection manifold to the head and not the next one up the chain. However it did give me a chance to investigate the cylinder head on my car as I have a receipt in the history at 105k miles from VW for a new cylinder head. However in the notes on the invoice it says "cylinder head has notable differences to original, reused original cams" Casting shows a date of 1998 for the head Looks like it has a late golf vr6 cylinder head fitted by VW but with the 2.9 cams Shrick should fit nicely
20. I think it being advertised as incomplete but then not saying what was missing, screwed the guys sale up. I managed to buy all the bits that we're missing for about £90. The key bits like the flapper and actuator were included and overall it looks very good, no visible wear to any of the parts.
21. Going to rig the controller up tomorrow and check that works then it's all ready to roll. If you get a sec Mat, any chance you could photo graph the section you had to cut on your bonnet?
