  1. I'm not sure it is the mat, as it happens when the peddle is right at the top, just about where the free play starts.
  2. Two red 16v's, i think, heading into South Croydon on Saturday morning, about 11 ish. I'd just picked up my VR. I saw them within about 30 seconds of each other.
  3. I intend to keep it as Karman intended nick, just like yours. The only thing I will keep changed, is the K + N induction kit. The noise is out of this world. Your car looked stunning by the way Nick.
  4. Dale, it's called Ice grey violet.
  5. I want to keep it as standard as possible. I love the speedlines as well, so won't be changing them anytime soon. I may lower it in the future, but as I haven't seen how it handles in the dry yet, I don't know if it needs it or not. There are a few bits that need to be sorted in the new year, if you look at the first pic on the rear arch, you can make out a dent, below the petrol cap, that needs to be done. All of the arches need something dong to them, and the rear panel next to the corrado badge, there is a tiny bit of rust. Got it priced at £500, which is the amount the guy knocked off the price to get that work done. That's being done January time. Once that is all done, it will be pristine. I have got to take it to a garage tomorrow though as it is losing water. I think it's the connection from the top hose to the radiator that is leaking, as there is water running down it. I think the tappets or the tensioners may need doing as well, as on tickover you can hear something that sounds like tappets. I have noticed it takes ages for the screens, and side windows to clear, and a couple of times the front screen has had condensation on it, but the interior is dry all round. There is always a strip up the middle of the screen that will not fully clear, where the speaker is situated. I can't get enough of the roar when you get it wound up, and it is unbelievably quite when you want it to be. Thanks to all the people who have helped me out with advice etc, especially Henny, and Cliveyp, (I think it was them), who pointed me in the direction of this forum.
  6. OK, got some pics of it. They were taken in the rain, so the interior is slightly wet in the front, and there is rain on the lens for the rear seats. I haven't had chance to clean it yet either.
  7. I doesn't always do it though, that's the thing. If it does stick, it's when changing gear quick, and it's about half an inch from the top, and holds it there for literally a split second?
  8. I have just got back from driving it almost all day. The K + N really makes a stunning noise when you push the volume peddle! I'm gonna post some pics when the weather improves, and it is clean. On the way back from collecting it I was driving through some road works on a national speed limit road, and as it went from 30 to 70 again there were some guys doing a bit of roadworks, so i dropped it in to second a nailed it. The missus, who was following me, said they were all looking and cheering with there arms in the air! Obviously C fans! One thing i have noticed though is that the clutch peddle seems to stick a bit now and then. Is this likely to just be the peddle itself needing a bit of oil?
  9. I'm off to get my VR tomorrow morning, and I can't wait. Managed to get it for £5000, £500 off the asking price, in order to get all the minor body work parts sorted. I can't wait, I feel like a kid on christmas eve! Here she is. A beauty if you ask me!

    Coolant

Is it just a case of removing the hose and filling? How much should you put in? Is it best to drain all the old stuff out first? How easy is it to drain? I like asking questions!

    Coolant

I'm hopefully picking up my VR on Saturday, and I have read somewhere on this forum that the coolant should be filled from the top hose of the radiator, (I think). Is this correct?
  12. The VR I am buying has a K and N kit, with a cold air feed coming from the grill. It doesn't have any sort of heat shield though, should it?
  13. It was about 9.10 ish, it may not of had big wheels. I had some knob right on my bumper as I was coming past, and he wasn't impressed when I slowed down to have a look.
  14. I saw a nice dark blue 16v, with what looked like some big wheels on it. I was in my MKII GTI, and overtook near the Watford junction on the M1. Anyone here?
  15. There must be some other way of the DVLA obtaining up to date mileage, and the only way I can think they can do that is with MOT's. I have never filled out the mileage log on a V5. So if a car never has that mileage filled out, the DVLA would never know what the cars mileage is.
  16. Maybe I was a bit to happy. I decided to do an HPI check. I wasn't going to as he had one from when he bought it, and everything was clear. There is no outstanding finance or anything, but it says ther may be a mileage discrepancy. The car was only MOT'd friday, and I think I'm right in guessing that is how the mileage is checked. If the mileage is slightly higher, say 92100, and I have put the mileage as 92000, could that cause the problem?
  17. There is a guy in Watford, about two doors away from where I work, that does all stereo, and alarm things. He fitted a Cobra immobiliser to my MKII Golf. It is a very neat and tidy job as well. If you want there number I can get it for you.
  18. No Phat, I found it on exchange and mart.
  19. The rust is very miniscule, about half a cm in total, but it all counts! I also noticed a noise coming from the passenger side front wheel, sounded like a fuel pump maybe? Like a 'fluttering' noise is the best way I can describe it. Is that normal?
  20. Thanks for all the comments guys. It is really nice. One thing though, there is no rear VR6 badge, just Corrado. Is that normal?
  21. I will get pics up once I get it, but I am waiting for the guy to get the arches sorted. Cheers for the info Kev, as there are a few stonechips that I would like to sort out once I get it. Now it's the waiting game. I hate waiting!
  22. I went to look at the Ice grey violet VR6 eventually, and it is absolutely lovely. Ther are scuff marks on three of the wings, and some bubbling on the rear near the Corrado badge. He said he will get all that sorted before I buy it, or get it priced up and the total taken off the price of the car! It's up for £5,500, but It has black leather, air con, K+N Induction kit, 10 disc sony CD Changer, and a full closure Cat 1 alarm/Immoiliser. Plus full SH, non VW, 6 months Tax, and 1 years MOT. Apart from the small bodywork problems, it is lovely, and the black leather against the paintwork works reallly well. I've told him I'll buy it, so Woo hoo! The guy has had it for 4 years, but has only done about 20000 miles in it, the total is 92000 ish. I can't wait to take it on the 75 mile trip home! Thanks for all the advice and tips guys, it has been really helpfull.
  23. Already armed myself with a copy of the buying guide, I'll just have to see how it goes. The car sounds 100% genuine, as does the seller. Fingers crossed!
  24. I'm going to look at a C on Sunday, but I am seriously having second thoughts now. Pretty much all I read about on here seems to be about peoples VR's breaking down, and problems. Are they really that bad? The one I'm going to see has a full specialist history, and passed it's MOT this morning with no problems. Please help to re-assure me!
  25. I went on one earlier in the year with work, (christmas bonus), at Palmer Sport, you don't drive ferraris and the like, but you do drive rally spec Evo 6, catheram 7 superlight, vx220 turbo, palmer jaguar JP1 racing car, stripped out racing clio, and a formula palmer audi single seater. The stripped out clio is absolutely awesome, and the guy that took me around the track, is the current clio cup world champion. I've also done a red letter days one as well, and can vouch for how good that is. I went on the classic cars one, and drove a DB6, jag E Type, jag D type, and a few others. I was also taken out by an instuctor in an AC Cobra. I would love to own one of them someday, what a car!
