  1. I was waiting for your response  Check your PM's anyway. Hugs and kisses x :camp:
  2. Generally give 24-48hours for a payment then move on. If someone's interested they'll pay straight away, why turn down a potential sale for the prospect of someone else's interest? Not worth losing out on a sale really. Which I have lost out numorous times turning down others whilst waiting for someone to pay only to find out they don't. People express interest and things fall through, it happens. But that's not what's happened here, like you say the buyer can't do much in a situation like this. Tbh it's pretty bad the way it's worked out, but I'm sure it was unintentional to cause this much trouble. Whats done is done.
  3. Don't mean to jump in.. But it fits the same, it's literally a reproduction of the Trimsport one. I think the quality is a little down especially on the end hoops, but they are still a very decent item. Just not as sought after for obvious reasons. Ones on edition for £105 posted which I personally feel is a tad overpriced so this one at £65 posted is a good price. If you don't want it I'd like it off him. Wouldn't feel right having you lose out twice! X

    Sold

Damn! I want.. These are cheap.. What pads and disks would be needed? Any idea if they'll fit under standard VR wheels?
  5. I've never tried the Poorboys wax, only Collinite 467s and Dodo juice blue velvet. It's much softer then normal body wax, more of a paste. It's applied the same, put it on, rub it in then buff it off, once buffed it leaves more of a layer than body wax and a beautiful shine. Hope that helps.
  6. Just years of experience with selling on forums. It's just a business minded way of looking at things. I know it's morally wrong but years of being messed about jumping through hoops for nothing has taught me first to pay buys. I highly doubt that would have happened here, but like I say two offers I'd take the best offer. A chance to match would have been fair. But things obviously happened quickly and payment was made with little thought.
  7. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/poorboys-wheel-sealant/prod_9.html Apply a couple of layers every month or so and the brake dust literally rinses off with a hose. Bit of a pain to apply because it's a wax, but it's soft enough not to cause major issues. Oh, and buy from there as they are local Huddersfield lads.. Support local business! :)
  8. PM'd :) I disagree. First to pay first served. At the end of the day cash is king. If a sale had been organised and a payment was just outstanding them yes I'd say that was bad, but when two offers appeared in such a short amount of time then no. It's not a playground where first dibs is gospel. He had two offers and chose the best one. You win some you lose some. Maybe giving the opportunity to match the offer would have been more correct, but the amount of items I've personally had for sale where I've been messed about, I only mark am item as sold when cash in in the bank - not that this would have happened here. :( I would have been gutted to lose out but on the otherhand I would have done the same as Mr fishywicky. Times are tough boys and girls :|
  9. I bet if none of yours work it'll drive you mad now!
  10. A few small updates.. First off I was having my weekly poke under the bonnet and I found this! I was expecting it really as it is one of the renowned parts for failing.. I can remember renshaws24v's thread asking about them and BristolBaron had mentioned he had some spare.. Good old Baz sorted me out. He's my homeslice :luvlove::camp: 2 days later this arrived: I also had a bulb out on one of my drivers side window switches, it was annoying me loads :bonk: 87 Jetta 16v hooked me up.. it's the little things in life I also Picked up some H3 Osram Nightbreakers main bulbs to match my dipped, i used the free £5 paypal code last week so got them for about £7 posted. Sweet! Final update! My sunroof has always played silly buggers since buying it. It would always tilt, but when sliding it would only move 1/2" at a time, it did fully open, but the switch had to be pressed on then off, then on, then off then on, then off (you get the idea).. StueyB provided a replacement switch and Cheesy provided a new motor.. Old Switch: New Switch: Motor fitted at the same time.. And boom! Can anyone confirm though whether that's how far the sunroof should slide? Or should it slide further back?
  11. Surplus to my requirements... Early spec grill. Great condition all things considering it's 20 years old. The silver VW emblem has faded. It appears to have all tabs intact (two top, two bottom - both at either side, the top middle has a cylinder attachment). No cracks, majors marks or anything and cleans up well. £25 Late spec grill. modified to fit an early car. Only one tab remaining, I fitted with a black cabletie to the right rear (unseen).. Never had an issue with it flopping around. The Black VW badge is OE. £10 FK De-badged grill. One upper tab missing, still fits nice though. Its a little faded at the top but nothing a regular trim treatment wont fix. £10 Finally a genuine Corrado G60 front front Grill badge.(part no: 535 853 679). A little marked from 20 odd years of stones, but nothing detrimental. All clips and fixings are still intact and it fits nice and tight to an early grill. I'm asking £30 for this (as it's a tough one to price - some go for silly money even in this condition! If this is extortionate, I don't want to rip people off but likewise I don't want to sell myself short, so let me know ) All prices are negotiable and plus postage. Collection from Sheffield. Thanks! :thumbleft:
  12. I think I have some from a G60... is your car early or late as I think they are different.. I say think because I am still drunk from last night and i am hungover at the same time. :pukeright:
  13. Todays update involves booze.. lots of it.. I Am sooooooo... Hungover. That is all. :pukeright:
  14. Sorry man, I only need the head bolts, i'm not touching the bottom end.. Yet! ---------- Post added at 8:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:13 PM ---------- Found a set for £145 posted now.. I think thats pretty good unless anyone else has some input?
  15. I'm due to replace my cylinder head on the VR in the coming months and I'm gathering parts now. I'm going the Sharan metal gasket route to raise the compression slightly. VW quoted a fair amount for the headbolts: 021 103 384 k (7) - £5.60 ea / £39.20 021 103 384 G (10) - £5.75 ea / £57.50 021 103 384 L (3) - 7.96 ea / £23.88 Grand Total: £120.58 Now, I don't mind paying these prices and I'm just not interested in ill fitting, poor quality crap for something like this. But It's got me thinking ARP bots can't be much more and they are re-usable which will come in handy in the future at some point. Can anyone recommend where to buy them? eBay seems the best bet at approximately £170 a set delivered. Can anyone beat that?
  16. Sooooo tempted with the VDO Gauges!
  17. I'm tempted... Depends how I feel Sunday morning I guess..

    Major oil leak

All answered in your original thread man, click here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?64209-Mega-oil-leak&p=800965#post800965
  19. Cheers dude! Well, I've just done some geeky calculations :study: and with the extra 0.5" of width and the extra 6mm of ET yours actually poke out a further 13mm - ish compaired to mine. Although your poke looks a little more than that compaired to mine? My front wheels are almost flush, I mean almost, they are about 1-2mm inside the arch: I had to tilt the camera slightly to get the shot as a straight down shot made the wheels disappear completely, like I say, the wheels just inside the arch. It could be 13mm difference and its just exaggerated by camera angle? Maybe when my arches have been rolled they could have been pulled slightly? They look very OE by shape. Could yours be non late spec, i.e not as wide? And Yeah, Footman James require me to have another car, luckily I'm insured as a name driver on a few other cars so effectively the Corrado is a 2nd car.. i only do about 300-400 miles a month in her now compared to the 1200-1400 I was doing with my last job! The arches need painting anyway, the paint has cracked in some places on the very very underside (when you stick your head right in the arch) from the previous rolling, so I'm getting them rolled tight then re-sprayed to stop any rust forming. I've been quoted a couple of hundred quid for a set of arches rolled and painted.. Luckily the rear of the arches have that small flat lip before it curves meaning only a very small section to paint.

    Mega oil leak

Yep, Broken sender, I've had it before on a G60 where I was finding oil on top of my gearbox and I couldn't find where it was coming from as there was nowhere to leak, turns out the same sender as yours broke and was shooting oil up through the wire sleeve to the top of the gearbox. The sender is about £14 now from VW! Bought one before Xmas. I would buy VW only when it comes to senders as pattern parts tend to fail prematurely. Edit: yep, £14.32 from VW. part Number: 068919081D, I have a couple of new senders so I've dropped you a PM.
  21. Looks a good set up, what temps were you running? Is that a Rotex I spy there? :thumbleft:
  22. No worries at all man I've actually been getting quite a few Pm's so here it goes... Fronts: BBS RC041 17x7.5 ET41, 20mm adapters taking them to a final ET21. Wrapped in 195/40/17 Uniroyal Rainsport 2's Rears: BBS RC042 17x8.5 ET41, 22mm adapters taking them to a final ET19. Wrapped in 205/40/17 Uniroyal Rainsport 2's My arches have been slightly rolled by Banded Steels through a previous owner. The rear offside scrubs when there are dips in the road or ridges and also the front nearside scrubs the underside of the outer arch on full lock. Whether this is down to slight movement in the subframe/axle over 20 years of luxurious British roads or the amateur rolling job, I'm unsure. Saying this though, there has been no damage to the tyres at all; so whatever scrubbing it is, it must be only just touching. Ideally I would like to see the rears with a 25mm adapter and a inch or so more lows and then the fronts with the 22mm adapters (which I have tried and they sit nicely) and more lows. I will be trying this out in the next few months after my arches have been professionally rolled as tight as they can be. This^ Peter Best was the same price as Footman James for me. :smug:
  23. Got some early fogs and indicators with all the brackets etc. open to offers.
